Sally was born on August 30th, 1953, the youngest child of Arthur Lewis Poff, Sr. and Frances Graham Poff of Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy and Bertha Graham and Guy and Ella Poff, along with her parents. Those left to cherish the many fond memories of Sally are her son, Leighton John Hylton and his fiance, Marnie Turner of Floyd; daughter, Sara Phillips Bruce of Christiansburg, son-in-law, Mark S. Bruce of Blacksburg, and a very "special daughter", Crystie Leigh Currie and her husband, David of Christiansburg. She is also survived by her grandson, Jared Laurence Bruce. Her two brothers, Arthur Lewis Poff and his wife, Karen of Christiansburg and Victor Roy Poff and his wife, Marie of Roanoke also survive Sally, along with her sister, Sharon Poff King of Christiansburg. Her nieces, Jennifer Poff Cooper and husband, Lee and children, Alex and Inessa of Madison, Ala; Cathy Poff Harding and husband, Robert and children, Allison and Amber of Roanoke; nephews, Arthur Graham Hamrick and wife, Janice and daughter, Dana of Riner, David Michael Poff of Iowa City, Iowa and Darrell Guy Hamrick of Riner. Sally lived her life to the fullest and never let her disability stand in her way. She was admired by many for her passion and desire to live for the well of her children. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 16 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. By the wishes of Sally, there will be no funeral services held and that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Blue Ridge Chapter, 1 Morton Drive, Suite 106, Charlottesville, Va. 22903. Mr. Keith was born on March 19, 1917, in Floyd County, Virginia, the son of Waller P. and Mae Howell Keith. While a young boy, his family moved to the Montgomery County dairy farm near Riner, where he lived the rest of his life. Mr. Keith was well-known in agricultural circles, having been active in many farming organizations including Southern States Advisory Board, Riner Area Young Farmers and Riner Grange. He was a member of the Montgomery County Planning Commission for sixteen years and served two terms as its chairman. He also served on the Equalization Board and the board of the American Red Cross. During his active retirement, Mr. Keith was known for his craft work, being an expert basket maker, chair caner and furniture refinisher. He often taught these skills in classes for the 4-H and the VT YMCA. Mr. Keith was predeceased by his first wife, Edna Akers Keith, his parents, two sisters and a brother. He is survived by his second wife, Susan Regan Keith; a son, Phillip E. Keith; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Arthur Poff, all of Riner/ Christiansburg; a granddaughter, Jennifer Poff Cooper and husband, Lee of Madison, Ala; great-grandchildren, Jacob Alexander and Inessa Claire Cooper of Madison, Ala; stepchildren, Tommy Regan of Blacksburg, Dedee Regan of Charleston, S.C. and Sean Regan of Alexandria, Va; special cousin, David Myers and wife, Mariel of Sieverville, Tenn. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Montgomery County 4-H, c/o Montgomery County Extension Service, 755 Roanoke Street, Suite 1G, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. He was a member of Windsor Hills Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and previously as Finance Chairman. Surviving are a loving wife of fifty years, Evelyn Wickham; a daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Walter Hare of Roanoke; a son and his wife, James (Jimmy) and Karen Wickham of Cloverdale; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Stephanie and William Hare, Scott, Myles and Kristen Wickham. He is also survived by six sisters, Marie Martin and her husband, Robert, Christine Martin, Betty Stanley and her husband, Coy, Mary Alice Smith, Nellie Childress, Anne Clark and her husband, Carlton. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Barbara Wickham; one aunt, Elva Eary; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and three special friends, Giles Childress, Jimmy Dillon and Lonnie Pratt. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's South Chapel on Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. C. Lawrence Dodson and the Rev. Ron Sutherland officiating. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Suite #115, Roanoke, Va. 24014 or to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 643 Orchard View Lane, Roanoke, Va. 24018. Henry Loving Book1,2

Henry Loving Book was buried at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.2 He Henry L. Book joined the Confederate States Army May 15, 1861 and took part in the Battle of Gettsyburg in July of 1863. He was with the 28th Virginia Regiment Infantry, which was part of Pickett's Division. He was either killed on the battle site, or died later in the day. His body was brought back to Virginia and buried in the Hollywood Cemetery, a large Confederate burial site in Richmond, Virginia. His widow later married Clifton Elmore, her first cousin. Clifton raised Mary and Henry's son, William, but it is not known what happened to the older son, Frank. Military Records taken from HARD TIMES, Vol. III, published by the Craig Co., Virginia Historical Society in 1990. BOOK, HENRY L., enlisted May 15, 1861 at Craig Courthouse and assigned to Company B, 28th Virginia Infantry Regiment. Was sick at home most of 1861-1862. Killed in action at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863. Occupation: mechanic Widow: Mary Book.3 He was born on September 26, 1839 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.1,2 He married Mary Ann Elizabeth Elmore, daughter of Joel Brownlon/Brownlew Elmore and Sarah Catherine "Katy" Paxton, in May, 1859 at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia; It appears that the marriage record was destroyed when the Craig County Court House was burned by the Union Army during the Civil War.4,2 Henry Loving Book died on July 3, 1863 at Gettysburg, Adams Co., Pennsylvania, at age 23.1,4,2
