Troopers said the accident occurred at 6:30 a.m, Friday. Mrs. Holcomb pulled her eastbound auto off the north berm of the road into the path of the eastbound Sirk car, which struck the door on the driver side of Mrs. Holcomb's car, troopers said. Mrs. Holcomb was the wife of Jack Holcomb, a State Department of Highways employe. She was employed by the Commission for Aging in Clay County. She had just started her work day when the accident occurred. She was a member of the Widen Baptist Church and graduated in 1948 from what was then Widen High School. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: daughter, Dianna Lynn, at home; sons Jack Jr. and Jeffrey Allan, both at home; parents, the Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Connor of Widen; sisters, Mrs. Joanne Shamblin of Homer and Mrs. Maxine Russell of Mullins; brothers, Melvin Conner of Ravenswood and Gaylord Conner of Charleston. Service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Widen Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Baker and the Rev. Cecil Butcher officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
