He was born April 14th, 1908 at McComas, a son of the late Charles C. Thompson and Dicie Harman Thompson. He was a retired coal miner in Barber and the owner and operator of Edd's Barber Shop in Bluefield, Va. He was also a member of the UMWA and a member of the Ceres Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jimmy W. Thompson, Jr. He had been a resident of Maple Acres for 41 years.
