She was born in Berea, Ky., on Sept. 28, 1919, to Colonel and Gertrude Eason Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luyn H. Poff; a sister, Christine Hopkins; three brothers, Johnny, Billy and Hubert Hill; four half-sisters, Nancy Toms, Alice Whitcomb, Oralee Adams and Dora Riley; and two half-brothers, John H. Hill and Wilton Hill. She retired from Tultex in 1981 after 21 years of service, and she was a member of Collinsville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are two daughters, Pat Poole and Bonnie Brewer, both of Martinsville; two sons, Ronald Poff of Ridgeway and Jerry Poff of Gainesville, Ga; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Woods officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the service Thursday and other times at the home of her son, Ronald Poff, 178 Canterbury Lane, Ridgeway. Memorials may be made to Collinsville Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 627, Collinsville, Va. 24078. on June 3, 2009.1

Reba and Carl were blessed with 10 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. The Craigheads were master gardeners. They spent their lives dedicated to family and the Grace Presbyterian Church, Glade Spring, Va. Reba was a graduate of Check High School and retired from Johnston Memorial Hospital. She lived the last four years at the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Va., where she received loving care and developed many friendships. The immediate family will receive friends and other family members on Friday, May 14, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd, Va. Due to Reba's wishes, there will be no public viewing. The funeral service will begin 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, also at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Mr. Larry Phillips. Also surviving are her precious grandchildren, Dana Young (Roanoke), Brandon and Angela Hodges, of Willis, Matthew Montgomery and Erin Yearout-Patton, of Powhatan, Ashleylachell Young, of Richmond, Sheena Young, of Roanoke, Mack Montgomery Jr., of Willis, Mekaila Young, of Check, Arlene Montgomery, of Greenville, Miss., Michael Young, of Salem, and Kara Young, of Check. She is also survived by her great- grandchildren, Zachariah Hodges, Malachi Montgomery, Lily Young, Ella Hodges, and Dylan and Tyler Young. Surviving sisters- in-law are Catherine Williams, of Roanoke, Hazel Young, of Christiansburg and Marie Young, of Norfolk; as well as many nieces and nephews. Nanny Opal was always a care-giver, caring for her family and others before herself. She loved her family dearly as well as all animals. She will be greatly missed even though the family knows that she is free of pain and in the loving arms of the Lord. The family is especially thankful to Sherry Reed, Karen King, Kelly Sweeney from Carilion Hospice who did so much to make her last days on this earth easier and more enjoyable and to help the family though this time of life. on September 6, 2013.5

Funeral services will be held Friday August 14, at Lotz Roanoke Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ned. Crumpacker officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at all times Thursday at the funeral home. on August 13, 1987.1
