He was of the Mormon faith and belonged to The Church of the Latter-Day Saints where he served as treasurer. Dale lived his life by doing it "His Way". Dale was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carlene Nimmo; his siblings, Travis W. Nimmo, James C. Nimmo, Gypsy C. Nimmo Cline and Phyllis C. Nimmo. He is survived by his brothers, Neil A. Nimmo and his wife, Donna and Millard T. Nimmo; his sister, Bonnie C. Nimmo and 14 nieces and nephews. Pugh; two daughters, Debra Layman and husband, Jon, of Roanoke, Pamela Hatter and husband, Matthew from Botetourt; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hatter; brothers, Howard Wesley Conner and wife, Evelyn, of Roanoke County, Jackson L. Conner and wife, Louise, of Copper Hill; sisters-in-law, Mary Board, of Roanoke, and Kathryn Naff, of Ohio. Along with a host of other family and friends. Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on August 21, 2015.5

Marvin was preceded in death by father-in-law, Jesse Hodges; brother-in-law, Jack Stanley; and nephews, Douglas Neighbors and Mark Stanley.Surviving are wife of 55 years, Marguerite Link; children, Tony and Karen Link, Terry Link, Cheri and James Smith, and Barry Link; grandchildren, T.J. and Matt Williams, Amber and Jeffrey Wise, Christopher, Matthew, and Joseph Link, Krystal Walters, Shelton and Alexis Link, Daniel Link, and Brett Dagenais-Lewis; great-grandchildren, Lucas VanMeter, Keeley Burnley, and Canaan Williams; brothers, Tom and Ann Link, Ronnie Link, and Donald and Ina Link; special family friends, Jannette Link and Michelle Link; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin Link was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a dedicated Teamsters Union member with 24 years of service with Preston and Yellow Freight. He was an active member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, and loved listening to bluegrass. Marvin was an avid sportsman with a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and camping with his grandchildren.The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Oakey's South Chapel officiated by Pastor Perry Lundy and Elder Junior Conner. Mrs. Link was born on July 1, 1942, to the late Jesse and Myrtle Hodges. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin; brothers-in-law, Jack Stanley and Tom Link; nephews, Douglas Neighbors, Mark Stanley, and Billie Jack Neighbors; and niece, Constance Vest. Marguerite was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marguerite worked as a secretary at the Roanoke City Health Department and retired there after twenty-plus years. While there, she received the honor of the Southwest Regional Secretary of the Year. She was a member of Poages Mill Church of the Brethren and had a deep and abiding faith in God. Marguerite and Marvin loved traveling the country and spending their winters in Florida with many of their friends. She enjoyed vacations with the entire family by the shore. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Many precious hours were spent in the pool, yard, park and kitchen - playing the day away with "Meme" as they called her. She had that special love that only a grandmother could give, and her family knew she could always be counted on to give support in any way. The family would like to extend their gratitude towards her amazing caretakers, Krystal Walters, Chelsea Link, and Stormy Brieger. The family would also like to recognize the time and effort put forth from Tony and Karen Link in caring for their mother. Burial will follow at Rest Vale Cemetery in Copper Hill. on February 11, 2023.3
