Survivors include his loving wife, Julia Stephens Francis; two stepdaughters, Angie T. Bernstein of Key Largo, Fla., and Vickie T. Chambers and husband Mickey of Fairfield, Va; one stepson, C.G. Thomas and wife Eugena of Peterstown; a half brother, James McDaniel and wife Jerry of Summersville; one nephew, Johnny McDaniel and wife Ann of Charleston; two great nieces, Kerri and Katie McDaniel; six step grandchildren and three step great grandsons. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2007 at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, with the Rev. Steve Howdock officiating. on October 17, 2007.2

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Stephens Runions, of Pearisburg; two grandsons, Steve McGuire and wife Betty, of Narrows, Va., Rick McGuire, of Pensacola, Fla; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Haga, of Radford and Justin McGuire, of Radford; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys R. Bailey, of Bland, Va; two brothers, Roy Runions, of Melbourne, Fla. and James C. (Doc) Runions, of Pearisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 15, 2002 in the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles W. Lockerby and Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Saturday evening at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg from 6 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg. on December 14, 2002.2
