Born at Fayetteville, Aug. 13, 1935, he was a son of Mrs. Lena Shockey Holstein of Pax and the late Clarence Holstein. Other survivors include his wife, Janice; one son, Wes and one daughter, Kim, both at home; four brothers, Steve of Pax, Donald and Clarence, both of Eylria, Ohio, and Jerry L. of Marshall, Mich., and three sisters, Mrs. Helen Boyko of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Betty Christian of Eylria, Ohio, and Mrs. Sandra Maynor of Pax. Burial will be in the Pax Community Cemetery. on November 21, 1974.3

Janice Aubrey Canterbury Janice Aubrey Canterbury Holstein Meredith, age 71, of Pax, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, W.Va. Born September 18, 1937, at Pax, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Barbara Canterbury of Pax, W.Va. Janice and her husband, Buck, were owners of the "BuckStop" Store in Pax, W.Va., for the past 22 years. Janice loved to fish with her Aunt Josephine Hughes of Pax. She loved to garden and spend time with her family, and she especially loved her "Classic Cokes." She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Haden Holstein of Elyria, Ohio; a sister, Mitzi Cimino of Chrisman, Ill; and mother-in-law, Rachel Williams Meredith of Pax, W.Va. She was the beloved wife of Larry "Bucky" Meredith of Pax, W.Va., and the mother of Wesley Holstein and his wife, Shirley, of Grafton, Ohio, and Kim Holstein Downing of Pax, W.Va. She is also survived by two sisters, Connie Pearson and her husband, Howard, of Oak Hill and Judy Barley and her husband, Paul, of Maple Fork; two brothers, George Canterbury and his wife, Donna, of Maple Fork and Pat Canterbury and his wife, Jill, of Pax; grandchildren, Gina Kincaid of Pax, Jason (Katie) and Brandon Holstein of Grafton, W.Va., and Chet and Tyler Downing of Pax, W.Va; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Ludwick and Park Kincaid, both of Pax. Burial will follow in Pax Community Cemetery at Pax, W.Va. Thomas Nelson Broach Jr. Thomas Nelson Broach Jr., 81, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at CAMC General Hospital. Tom was born on August 2, 1941 in Mount Kisco, NY, to the late Thomas N. and Clara Shockey Broach. Tom was a veteran of the United States Marines with a rank of E-3. He worked as a Welder Mechanic at various Coal Preparing Plants and at Long Airdox in Oak Hill. Tom was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church. He was a 1960 graduate of Fayetteville High School. Tom enjoyed fishing, coin hunting with his metal detector, also an avid antique collector and dealer at the New River Antique Mall. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his sister Patsy Johnson. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Doris Dobbins Broach, stepson Steven Grunenberg, stepdaughter Taunya Jones, son Thomas "Tombo" Broach III (Felicia), daughter Tami Langley (Shannon), grandchildren Braden Broach (fiancé Madison), Adrian Broach and Tucker Langley, brother-in-law Richard Dobbins (Margaret), many nieces and nephews. Tom also adored his two dogs Baby and Gypsy.
