On Tuesday around 6:55 p.m., a 2007 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle driven by Paul Stafford, age 23, of Cleves Ohio, was northbound on IR-71 traveling at a high rate of speed. The patrol says Stafford passed several vehicles on the right side berm, then ran into the rear portion of a semi-truck trailer. Stafford was ejected from the motorcycle. Troopers arrived on scene moments after the crash and performed CPR, but all life- saving efforts were unsuccessful. Stafford was pronounced dead at the scene by the Greene County Coroner. The Patrol doesn't know which truck was hit by Stafford. The truck kept going, and they say it's possible the driver never knew the truck was involved in a crash. Stafford was wearing a helmet, and alcohol and drugs are not suspected. on July 18, 2012.⁵

She was born November 3, 1949 in Point Pleasant, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. Frank Richard "Keno" Bennett Jr. and Myrtle Latisha (Simpkins) Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Latisha Renee Jones; and two brothers, Paul Ray Bennett and James Franklin Bennett. Barbara Jean worked as an artist of painting, pottery, poetry and furniture restoration. She is survived by her husband, John Henry Bolton of Fraziers Bottom; one daughter, Bobbi Ann Gaul of Point Pleasant; one son, John Richard (Rosie) Swanson of Daegu, Korea; eight grandchildren, Samuel Gaul, Kevin Gaul, Jason Gaul all of Point Pleasant, Julia Swanson of Texas, Janelle Swanson, Haylee Swanson, Aubrey Swanson, Emma Swanson all of Daegu, Korea; one sister, Lois Shinn of Leon; and one brother, John (Jane) Bennett of Point Pleasant.³ Her married name was Bolton.³ Her married name was Swanson.³ She married John Henry Bolton.³ Barbara Jean Bennett married Unknown Swanson.³ Barbara Jean Bennett married Unknown Bonecutter.⁴ Barbara Jean Bennett was born on November 3, 1949 at Point Pleasant, Mason Co., West Virginia.³ She died on November 20, 2011 at Fraziers Bottom, Putnam Co., West Virginia, at age 62.³

     Patricia Jo Buffington Patricia Jo Jackson - Patty, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the age of 79. Patty was born November 27, 1937 to Erma and Joe Buffington in Gallipolis, OH and lived in Pt. Pleasant, WV for 35 years before moving to Glendale, AZ in 1972. Patty was a graduate of Marshall University and loved being a teacher. She was a beautiful and loving soul - friends and family remember her fondly for her "high hairdos" and infectious sense of humor.
