She had lived in Danville most of her life and was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church. She was married Sept. 29, 1897 to Byron Homer Custer, a well known attorney in Danville for many years. He died April 3, 1926. She is survived by one sister Mrs. Thomas B. Slayton of Danville, and a number of nieces and nephews. on September 14, 1963.2

Roberts of Smithfield and Thomas Jebson Jr. of Newport News; and two sisters, Margaret C. Meyer of Norfolk and Helen C. Cox of Grafton. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke, Va., by Dr. John S. Carpenter Jr., pastor of North Riverside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. at 323 Parkway Drive, Newport News. Memorials may be made to Averett College, Danville, Va. 24541 or North Riverside Baptist Church. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. on May 18, 1996.6

Cox Jr., all of Danville, Mrs. Marguerite Meyer of Richmond and Miss Helen Cox of Chatanooga, Tenn. on January 12, 1954.3
