He was born in Roanoke, September 10, 1951, son of the late Elvin, and Reda Alderman Conner (Sr.) E.W. was a maintenance specialist. He was one of those guys who could fix anything in an apartment complex. He could fix most other things also. He loved fishing; planting a big garden and sharing what it produced. He had a marvelous sense of humor. He especially loved his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Susan Epperly Conner; his daughters, Angie Conner Cooper (Scott) and Krista Nicole Conner; his brother, Randy Conner (Diane); two sisters Brenda Conner Tuten (Don), and Jeanette Conner Blair (Willis). He was a doting and loving grandfather to his four grandchildren, Tyler Nance, Amber Nance, Afton Cooper, Katherine Cooper. Also surviving him are his nephews, Randy Conner II, Jeremy Blair and Murphy Greer; his nieces Karen Tuten Sartin and Sharon Carranza. His special Dog Blanca and cat, Pink, and numerous other family members and friends.5 He was born on September 10, 1951 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,3,5 He married Vickie Marie East on July 5, 1968 at Roanoke, Virginia.6 Elvin Walter Conner Jr. and Vickie Marie East were divorced on October 6, 1977 at Eden, Rockingham Co., North Carolina.6 Elvin Walter Conner Jr. married Susan Elaine Epperly on June 3, 1978 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,5,7 Elvin Walter Conner Jr. died on August 18, 2019 at Virginia at age 67.5

Crystal loved her job at the Advance Auto Parts Store at 13th and Jamison. She also loved horseback riding, NASCAR races, playing video games with her kids, music and dancing. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on February 2, 2011.3

     Elbert James Wilson Radford Sr. was buried at Highland Memory Gardens, 5555 Lee Highway, Dublin, Pulaski Co., Virginia.3 He was born on March 31, 1933 at Roanoke, Virginia.3,4 He married Betty Lee Farmer on April 27, 1953 at Galax, Virginia.3,5 Elbert James Wilson Radford Sr. died on September 11, 2018 at Virginia at age 85.3 He Master Sergeant James W. Radford, Sr. USAF (retired), of Christiansburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the age of 85. James was born in Roanoke, Va. on March 31, 1933. He was the only child of Samuel and Annabell Radford. The family moved to Pulaski, Va. in 1942. James graduated from Pulaski High School in May 1950, joining the Marines that same month. Leaving the Marines in 1952 he then worked at the Radford Arsenal and married Betty Lee Farmer in 1953. Missing the military life, James joined the Air Force in 1956 moving to Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FLa. James moved his family to several duties stations, including Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. His final duty station was Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, retiring from the Air Force on November 1, 1974. James had an opportunity to join his uncle, Albert Conner, in a mobile home park venture that same year. He, along with his wife Betty, managed their rental properties until retiring from that business in May, 2002. James loved his military career, golf tournaments with his wife, watching all sports on television, military reunions and motorcycle trips with his son. MSGT Radford is survived by his wife Betty; son, James W. Jr. of Radford; daughters, Donna Lee Radford of Crofton, Md. and Connie Harless of Christiansburg; grandchildren, James W. Radford III and wife Aysha of Cary, Nc., Lisa Lynn Vaught and husband Chad of Christiansburg, Michelle Radford of Crofton, Md., Jason Bradley Harless and partner Christine of Lusby, Md., Melissa Bennett and husband Trevor of Christiansburg. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Graveside with military honors will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. on September 16, 2018.3
