He will be deeply missed by surviving family, son and daughter-in-law, Harold Roger Jr. and Brenda Kay Simpson; son, Ricky David Simpson; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Key and James Donald Brown; daughter, Kelly Michelle Manning; brother, Lewis M. Simpson; sisters, Dorothy Marie George and Peggy Simpson Atkins; nine grandchildren, Brock, Michelle, Angie, T.J., Justin, Steven, Rikki, Brett, and Chessa. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at 3327 Haywood Avenue, S.W., Roanoke. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel. on October 8, 1997.7

She worked and was on the board at Atkins Plumbing and Heating in Roanoke, Virginia; worked at Oak Hall Cap and Gown; worked for the census bureau; at Kroger, Friendship Manor, and at Jones Welding. Peggy also cared for her handicapped son, Ernie, until his death and for her sick husband, George. She was the person we all aspired to be and looked up to. Peggy attended First Church of the Nazarene in her younger days and later Foursquare Evangel, Word of Life Church and Maranatha Church. She will be sadly missed by her survivors. Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Sisson (Tom Sisson), and Regina Crigger (Jeff Wallace); grandson, Christopher McGhee; granddaughter, Chelsea Larson (Nick); as well as a great-grandson, Milo Larson; and her sister, Dot George. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Roger Graves officiating. on July 27, 2021.6
