He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Willie Mae Conner Ratliff; his daughter, Patricia A. Umberger; grandson, Robert “Scott” McBride; two brothers, Clifford J. Ratliff and Cornell Perdue. He was a World War II veteran and worked for the railroad for over 40 years. After retiring he worked for Wood Funeral Home. He was a deacon at Salem Head of the River Church. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. He is survived by his daughter, Alfreeda R. Cadd; sister, Blanche Walsh; brother-in-law and wife, Banks & Opal Conner; grandson, Stephen L.      Stephen Lee McBride was buried at Keystone Heights Cemetery, Keystone Heights, Clay Co., Florida.^4,3 He Mr. Stephen "Steve" Lee McBride 55 of Keystone Heights passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, in Gainesville suddenly. He was born March 17, 1966, in Roanoke, Virginia and was owner of Keystone Buildings, LLC. Steve started out building in ground pools in Gainesville; he then began a career working with Jim Temple Construction over 20 years before becoming the owner and operator of Keystone Buildings, LLC. He was a member of Keystone Heights First Baptist Church and loved reading, especially his Bible and the Daily Bread booklet. Steve enjoyed billiards and was an avid golfer along with being outdoors fishing and grilling. Steve was preceded in death by his brother Robert "Scott" McBride. His survivors are a son Stephen L. McBride, Jr. of Salem, Virginia; parents Alfreeda (Ratliff) Cadd of Keystone Heights and Robert McBride of Ocala; grandson Corbin Ryker McBride of Salem, Virginia; nephew Robert "Dillon" McBride of Gainesville; fiancé Geraldine Anderson of Gainesville. Also left behind are aunts, uncles, cousins along with a host of lifelong friends that will miss him dearly. Interment will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.³ He was born on March 17, 1966 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2,4,3 He died on January 21, 2022 at Gainesville, Alachua Co., Florida, at age 55.^3,4

Robert was born on September 11, 1967, in Roanoke, Va., and was an A/C and Heating Technician for Comfort Temp in Gainesville. He attended the First Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, and was a member of the Gainesville Pool League. Robert is survived by his son, Robert Dillon McBride, of Keystone Heights; his mother, Alfreeda Cadd, of Keystone Heights; father, Robert W. McBride, of Ocala; brother, Stephen McBride, of Keystone Heights; and maternal grandfather, Alfred Ratliff, of Copper Hill, Va. He is also survived by his Uncle Jerry and Aunt Charlotte McBride and Uncle Mike McBride, all of Roanoke, Va. Burial followed at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. on July 9, 2011.³
