G.W. loved the Lord and his church family. He joined Laurel Ridge Primitive Baptist Church in November of 1962 and was baptized in December of 1962. G.W. served as deacon for 60 years. He retired from Appalachian Power Company after 32 years of service. G.W. loved his family very much. Humor and laughter were a big part of his life. He enjoyed antiquing, traveling, and his Florida home for 15 years. G.W. was an artist who created beautiful gardens throughout his lifetime. M. Weddle, principal of Max Meadows high school, at Max Meadows, died Sunday morning at the Radford Community hospital after a short illness. Surviving are his wife Sue Conner Weddle, three daughters, Emmy Lou, Helene Lu and Roberta Lee Weddle; one sister and two brothers, Mrs. R. A. DeHart, of Floyd, B. H. Weddle of Massachusetts and S. C. Weddle of Blacksburg. Mr Weddle was active in both civic and religious affairs, a member of the Wytheville Baptist Church, teacher of Men's Bible Class at Anchor Hope Church, Max Meadows. He was a member of the American Legion post at Floyd. He was a director at large of the Southwestern Virginia, Inc., having been a director the past 14 years. He was recently elected president of the Wythe County Education Association. Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Atwill of Richmond and Miss India DeHart of Washington attended the funeral of their uncle, W. M.
