Mary Lynn Conner, 87, a native of Radford, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 21, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Ishmael Conner, Sr. and Grace Earles Conner; her brothers, Noah David Conner and Luther "Junior" Conner; her sister, Rebecca "Becky" Hewitt; and her great-nephew, Matthew Legg. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Howie Phillips and his wife Vickie Phillips, and Sean Phillips; her grandchildren, Luke Phillips and his wife, Natalie Phillips, Rayna Sutphin and her husband, Joey Sutphin, Conner Phillips, and Brooke Phillips; and her great-grandchildren, Bryar Sutphin and Stetson Phillips. She is also survived by her brother, Dan Conner; her sisters-in-law, Faye Conner, Pattie Conner, and Joy Conner; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Hewitt. In addition, she is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.      Noah David Conner Sr. Noah David "Dave" Conner, Sr., 81, of Dublin, Virginia, passed away at his home on August 8, 2023. Dave, fondly known as Big Dave, was born to Luther and Grace Conner, on June 1, 1942, in Radford, Virginia. He was a graduate of Radford High School, and completed undergraduate study at Virginia Tech. Dave worked at Kollmorgen as a Quality Control Manager until his retirement, after which he enjoyed spending his free time with his family, working in the garden or in his barn. A child of the doowop era, he was truly "a classic," just like this 1964 Plymouth Fury Convertible. Dave is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patty, and his three children, Kristina and Matthew Legg, Sr., Noah David and Stephanie Conner, and Rebecca Conner. Dave is also survived by three grandchildren, whom he treasured: Madolyn Legg, Coralee Conner, and Noah David Conner, III. He is survived by his brothers, Luther and Joy Conner of Christiansburg, Virginia, and Dan and Faye Conner of Radford, Virginia, and sisters Mary Lynn Conner, of Radford, Virginia, and Rebecca "Becky" and Wayne Hewitt of Chesterfield, Virginia. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Ishmeal and Grace Earles Conner, father- and mother-in-law, Avria "Ebb" and Mattie Smith Hall, his precious grandson, Matthew Anthony Legg, Jr., and his cherished niece, Terri Lynn McAlister Padgett. Growing up on the New River, Dave enjoyed the outdoors immensely. He kept an impressive garden for many years, attended many fishing trips on Lake Erie with his friends, spent countless hours tending to his pool, and loved taking care of the many deer and birds that visit his home daily. He shared his love for animals with his family and had several beloved basset hounds over the years. Dave was also passionate about sports. He loved tailgating and Virginia Tech, but he also coached his own children's teams and attended as many of his grandchildren's games as he could. Dave experienced health issues from an early age that would later disqualify him from military service. However, Dave led a life of service to his community. He was a very active member of the Dublin Lions Club for forty years, an accomplishment of which he was very proud. During this time, he held many leadership positions, including President. He was responsible for co-establishing the Leo Club at Pulaski County High School during his tenure. As an eye transplant recipient himself, he valued the opportunity to go into local schools to test students' eyes as a certified screener for the Lions' Kidsight USA campaign. And you could always find him serving Lion Dogs at the New River Valley Fair and the Flea Markets. Dave was a member of Mt. View United Methodist Church, where he served as Youth Leader when his children were young. The name David means "beloved" and there is no better way to describe him. He loved his family fiercely and was loved by them to no end. He never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. He would give you the shirt off his back, although if he was at home, he probably wasn't wearing one. :) You could hear his whistling before you ever saw him and his laugh was infectious. He could find humor in any situation, with the quickest of wit. He had an undying love for his wife and his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He had the kindest heart and always put others before himself, taking care of his family tirelessly. He couldn't and wouldn't sit still - he always had a reason to go to the store. An OG Black Friday shopper from the days of Cabbage Patch Kids, he was skilled at finding a bargain, whether he needed it or not. He was a role-model to many and he has left a legacy to behold. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and caretakers at UVA Medical, Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Radford Carilion Hospital, Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Jefferson Surgical Clinic, LewisGale Hospital - Pulaski, and Carilion Clinic Outpatient Therapy in Dublin and special nephew, EMT, Tyler Hall, who was on the scene more than once when he was needed.² He was born on June 1, 1942 at Radford, Virginia.^1,2,4 He married Patricia Kaye Hall on December 16, 1967 at Pulaski, Pulaski Co., Virginia.¹ Noah David Conner Sr. died on August 8, 2023 at Dublin, Pulaski Co., Virginia, at age 81.²

     Rebecca Faye Conner Rebecca Faye Hewitt, Sep 13, 1944 - Aug 27, 2025. Rebecca "Becky" Faye Hewitt, 80, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Born in Radford, VA, she was the daughter of the late Luther Ishmael and Grace Earles Conner; and was also preceded in death by her brother, David Conner. In her younger years, Becky had attended Radford University and enjoyed playing tennis. She had a love for her Lord and was a member of Chester United Methodist Church. Becky had a deep love for caring and supporting her family to include her beloved grandchildren and dog, Bo. Becky always put the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed reading books, completing Sudoku puzzles, and cheering for her grandchildren at their sports events. Mrs. Hewitt is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Wayne Hewitt; four sons, W. Mike Hewitt (Rie), Bert Hewitt, Jake Hewitt (Lori), and Zac Hewitt; six grandchildren, Maiko, Chase, Lane, Lila, Preston, and Clay; three siblings, Luther Conner, Jr. (Joy), Lynn Conner, and Dan Conner (Faye); and numerous nieces and nephews.⁴ She was born on September 13, 1944 at Radford, Virginia.^1,2,3,4 She married Wayne Michael Hewitt on September 3, 1965 at Blacksburg, Virginia.^1,2,6,4 As of September 3, 1965,her married name was Hewitt.² Rebecca Faye Conner died on August 27, 2025 at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co., Virginia, at age 80.⁴

Concord St., died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at a Princeton hospital. Born Nov. 7, 1909, in Pride, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Berta Keatley Gore. She was a homemaker and a member of Painters Chapel United Methodist Church, Speedway. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoy G. Craghead; a son, William "Bill" Craghead; a daughter, Alice Raines; two brothers, Jim and Gordon Gore; and three sisters, Mona Speakman, Mable Jones and Dixie Gore. Survivors include two sons, Benny L. Craghead at home and Bobby J. Craghead of Spanishburg; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery. on August 18, 1999.²

Craghead, 79, of 414 State St., Athens, died Saturday at a Princeton hospital. Born in Cedar Grove, she was a daughter of the late Lotus E. Pennington and Carrie Curtis Keatley Pennington Snead. She was a homemaker and was a resident of Athens since 1957 moving from Rhodell. She was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church in Athens where she was a member of the Circle 2 and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Athens Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chauncey B. Craghead; one brother, James Pennington. Survivors: son, Robert Lee Craghead of Princeton; daughters, Mrs. Edward G. (Mona) Clark of Melbourne, Fla., Mrs. Lawrence (Barbara) Murphy of Speedway; brother, Glen Pennington of Charleston; grandchildren, Eric Clark, Brian Murphy and Melanie Murphy; and one great-granddaughter. Burial in the Athens Cemetery at Athens. Pallbearers will be Bob Craghead, Phillip Craghead, Dennis Craghead, Danny Craghead, Gilbert Copen and Arnold Pennington. on March 2, 1992.⁴
