Born June 12, 1938, in East Gulf, he was the son of the late Chauncey B. and Mildred M. Pennington Craghead. Mr. Craghead was a graduate of Athens High School, Class of 1961, and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Athens. For many years, he was a resident of the Princeton Health Care Center on Courthouse Road. While he was a patient, he served as president of the resident council for many years. Survivors include two sisters, Mona Clark and her husband, Edward G., of Melbourne, Fla., and Barbara Murphy and her husband, Lawrence, of Speedway; nieces and nephews, Eric Clark and his wife, Sandra, Brian and Melanie Murphy; and two great-nieces, Paige and Amanda Clark. Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery. on August 19, 1999.¹

     Barbara Jean Craghead was buried at Murphy Family Cemetery, Murphy Farm, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.² She Barbara Jean Murphy, 72, of Brush Creek Falls Road, Speedway, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Bowers Hospice in Beckley. Born August 6, 1950, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Chauncy Craghead and Mildred Pennington Craghead. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a 1968 graduate of Athens High School, and a 1969 graduate of the Executive Secretarial School in Bluefield, VA. Barbara retired with over 40 years service as an Administrative Assistant for the Mercer County Board of Education Main Office. Barbara was a member of the Athens Chapter #33 Order of the Eastern Star, Athens United Methodist Church and attended Painter's Chapel United Methodist Church in Speedway where she did the church bulletin every Sunday. She enjoyed scrap booking, cross stitching, arts, crafts, reading and most of all, was known for her quick wit, humor and intelligence. Barbara loved her family especially her three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence G. Murphy on September 7th, 2022 and her brother, Robert Craghead. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted children, Son, Brian Murphy and his wife Heather Kropac; Daughter, Melanie Kincaid and husband Jesse; Three grandchildren, Riddick Kincaid, Mason Murphy and Fallyn Murphy; Sister, Mona Clark; Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. The family has honored Barbara's request to be cremated.      Edward Gail Clark MELBOURNE, Fla. - Edward Gail Clark, 73, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013. A native of Princeton, W.Va., Ed moved to Melbourne, Fla. in 1964 with his wife, Mona. Ed graduated from Princeton High School and joined the U.S. Navy where he served four years aboard the U.S.S. Massey. After returning home from the Navy, he was hired at North American Rockwell Co. Ed then worked for Southern Bell for over 31 years. Ed loved touring the country in his RV, work camping and enjoying the company of many friends since retiring in 1996. He also loved fishing and taking on "projects" with his son, Eric. Ed was an active member of the Suntree United Methodist Church and served as President of the National United Methodist Campers. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Beatrice Clark. He is survived by his wife Mona Craghead Clark; son Eric (Sandra); daughter, Kathy (Barry) Jennings; grandson, Travis Jennings (Stacy); granddaughters Paige and Amanda Clark; granddaughter, Allison (Warren Hershberger); great-granddaughter, Hope Clark; sister, Barbara (Bert) Bush and their family.⁵ He was born on May 10, 1940 at Itmann, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.^4,6 He married Mona Sue Craghead, daughter of Chauncey Basil Craghead and Mildred Mae Pennington, on June 20, 1964 at Athens, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^1,2,3,4,5 Edward Gail Clark died on May 23, 2013 at Melbourne, Brevard Co., Florida, at age 73.^5,6

     Frances Faith Craghead was buried at Athens Cemetery, Athens, Mercer Co., West Virginia.³ She was born in 1934 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.^2,3 As of November 15, 1952,her married name was Meadows.² She married Lundy Elliott Meadows Jr. on November 15, 1952 at Chelyan, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.² Frances Faith Craghead died in 1984.³

     Lundy Elliott Meadows Jr. was buried at Athens Cemetery, Athens, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^2,4 He was born on February 15, 1933 at Claremont, Fayette Co., West Virginia.^3,4 He married Frances Faith Craghead, daughter of Otis Opie Craghead and Violet Madeline Stover, on November 15, 1952 at Chelyan, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.¹ Lundy Elliott Meadows Jr. died on June 30, 1989 at Oak Hill, Fayette Co., West Virginia, at age 56.⁴ He Elliot Meadows, 56, died Friday, June 30, in an Oak Hill hospital following an apparent heart. Born Feb. 15, 1933, at Fire Creek, he was the son of the late Lundy and Goldie Marie Meadows. Survivors include two sons, Steven Elliot and Richard Meadows, both of Oak Hill; two daughters, Kay Meadows of Charleston and Cindy Meadows Beyer of Lake Worth, Fla; four sisters, Margaret McCamy of Lookout, Pauline Holstin of Staunton, Va., Joyce Slack of Hurricane and Freda Canterbury of Mineral Wells; and two grandchildren. Burial will be in the Athens Cemetery at Athens. on July 2, 1989.⁴

     Carol Ellen Craghead was buried at Athens Cemetery, Athens, Mercer Co., West Virginia.³ She was born on April 23, 1936 at Speedway, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^8,3,4 As of June 5, 1954,her married name was Massey.² She married Charles Roger Massey on June 5, 1954 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.² Carol Ellen Craghead and Charles Roger Massey were divorced before December, 1957.⁸ As of December 14, 1957,her married name was Drennen.⁸ Carol Ellen Craghead married Gene Austin Drennen on December 14, 1957 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.^8,3,4,9 Carol Ellen Craghead died on January 27, 1990 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 53.^3,4 She Mrs. Carol E. Drennen, 53, of 245 Park Drive, formerly of Whitesville, died Saturday, Jan. 27, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born April 23, 1936, at Speedway, she was the daughter of Otis O. and Violet Stover Craghead of Fayetteville. Other survivors include her husband, Gene A. Drennen; a son, Timothy S. Drennen of Brevard, N.C; two daughters, Kimberly D. Holstein of Easton, Md. and Robin D. Harwell of Asheville, N.C; a brother, Danny Craghead of Hurricane, and nine grandchildren. Graveside services will be at the Athens Cemetery at Athens. on January 30, 1990.⁴

     Danny Otis Craghead was buried at Athens Cemetery, Athens, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^5,4 His Social Security Number was 235-68-4549.⁸ He and Martha Elizabeth "Marty" Collins were divorced.³ Danny Otis Craghead was born on October 28, 1944 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.^8,2,3,9,4 He married Martha Elizabeth "Marty" Collins on May 28, 1966 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.² Danny Otis Craghead married Anita June Lusk on August 22, 1992 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.³ Danny Otis Craghead died on January 19, 2008 at West Virginia at age 63.^5,8,9,4 He Danny Craghead, 63, of Hurricane, lost his battle with cancer, January 19, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Madeline Craghead; and sisters, Carol Drennen and Faith Meadows. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and retired from the state of West Virginia Bureau of Child Support Enforcement and Management Information Services. Danny was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was loved and admired by his co-workers. They were his extended family. He never met a stranger. He is survived by his children, Beth Bailey and husband Denny of Troutman, N.C., Matthew Craghead and wife Tara of Cocoa, Fla., Peter Craghead and wife Audra of Hurricane, and Britney Matthews and husband Mark of Teays Valley; five grandsons; and one granddaughter; former wife and friend, Marty Craghead of Troutman, N.C; companion, Carol Lucas of Charleston; and his St. Bernard, Oscar. Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery, Athens. on January 21, 2008.⁵

     Alice June Copen was born on June 1, 1930 at West Virginia.³ As of June 17, 1949,her married name was Brown.² She married David Austin Brown on June 17, 1949 at Jackson Co., Ohio.^5,2 Alice June Copen died on September 4, 2013 at Ohio at age 83.³
