Mr. Craghead was a graduate of Athens High School, Class of 1961, and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Athens. For many years, he was a resident of the Princeton Health Care Center on Courthouse Road. While he was a patient, he served as president of the resident council for many years. Survivors include two sisters, Mona Clark and her husband, Edward G., of Melbourne, Fla., and Barbara Murphy and her husband, Lawrence, of Speedway; nieces and nephews, Eric Clark and his wife, Sandra, Brian and Melanie Murphy; and two great-nieces, Paige and Amanda Clark. Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery. on August 19, 1999.1

Barbara Jean Craghead was buried at Murphy Family Cemetery, Murphy Farm, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2 She Barbara Jean Murphy, 72, of Brush Creek Falls Road, Speedway, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Bowers Hospice in Beckley. Born August 6, 1950, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Chauncy Craghead and Mildred Pennington Craghead. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a 1968 graduate of Athens High School, and a 1969 graduate of the Executive Secretarial School in Bluefield, VA. Barbara retired with over 40 years service as an Administrative Assistant for the Mercer County Board of Education Main Office. Barbara was a member of the Athens Chapter #33 Order of the Eastern Star, Athens United Methodist Church and attended Painter's Chapel United Methodist Church in Speedway where she did the church bulletin every Sunday. She enjoyed scrap booking, cross stitching, arts, crafts, reading and most of all, was known for her quick wit, humor and intelligence. Barbara loved her family especially her three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence G. Murphy on September 7th, 2022 and her brother, Robert Craghead. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted children, Son, Brian Murphy and his wife Heather Kropac; Daughter, Melanie Kincaid and husband Jesse; Three grandchildren, Riddick Kincaid, Mason Murphy and Fallyn Murphy; Sister, Mona Clark; Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. The family has honored Barbara's request to be cremated. Edward Gail Clark MELBOURNE, Fla. - Edward Gail Clark, 73, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013. A native of Princeton, W.Va., Ed moved to Melbourne, Fla. in 1964 with his wife, Mona. Ed graduated from Princeton High School and joined the U.S. Navy where he served four years aboard the U.S.S. Massey. After returning home from the Navy, he was hired at North American Rockwell Co. Ed then worked for Southern Bell for over 31 years. Ed loved touring the country in his RV, work camping and enjoying the company of many friends since retiring in 1996. He also loved fishing and taking on "projects" with his son, Eric. Ed was an active member of the Suntree United Methodist Church and served as President of the National United Methodist Campers. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Beatrice Clark. He is survived by his wife Mona Craghead Clark; son Eric (Sandra); daughter, Kathy (Barry) Jennings; grandson, Travis Jennings (Stacy); granddaughters Paige and Amanda Clark; granddaughter, Allison (Warren Hershberger); great-granddaughter, Hope Clark; sister, Barbara (Bert) Bush and their family.5 He was born on May 10, 1940 at Itmann, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.4,6 He married Mona Sue Craghead, daughter of Chauncey Basil Craghead and Mildred Mae Pennington, on June 20, 1964 at Athens, Mercer Co., West Virginia.1,2,3,4,5 Edward Gail Clark died on May 23, 2013 at Melbourne, Brevard Co., Florida, at age 73.5,6

Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery, Athens. on January 21, 2008.5
