He was also active in various professional organizations. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Radford, and an active member of the Radford Kiwanis Club. Surviving are his wife, Nelva H. Rutrough, Radford; a son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Patricia H. Rutrough, Jr., Bloomington, Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah R. and Marc P. Bridenhagen, Charlottesville; one brother, Julian Rutrough, Floyd County; along with three grandchildren, Amanda Jane Bridenhagen, Sarah Frances Bridenhagen and Kathryn Ryan Rutrough. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2000 at Restvale Cemetery, Floyd County, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Radford, with the Rev. Wendell Manuel officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2000 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford. Mrs. Rutrough was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Radford Woman's Club, Kiwanis Wives, and a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Radford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James E. Rutrough. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Roberta Rutrough, Jr., of Bloomington Ill; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Marc Bridenhagen, of Charlottesville, Va; two sisters, Frances Graham, of Galax, Va., and Garnet King, of Floyd, Va; two special friends, Barbara Duncan and Doris Viars, both of Radford; three granddaughters, Sarah Frances Bridenhagen, Amanda Jane Bridenhagen, and Kathryn Ryan Rutrough.      Judy Ann Rutrough was buried at Head of the River Cemetery (also known as Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery), Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.² She was born on April 3, 1951 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,4 She married Joseph Lee "Joe" Cox on July 26, 1986 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,5,2 As of July 26, 1986,her married name was Cox. Judy Ann Rutrough died on February 10, 2009 at Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 57.^2,7 She Judy Ann Rutrough Cox, 57, of Radford, Va., was born on April 3, 1951, and on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, her soul went to be with the Lord. She will be remembered as a courageous woman, a compassionate friend and wife, and a warm-hearted mother. She leaves to cherish her memory a husband, Joe Cox; one son, Brian Cox; twin stepdaughters, Marsha Phillips and Michele Cox; her parents, Julian and Eveleen Rutrough; one brother, Eddie Rutrough; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd, Va.
