He was in the U.S. Army paratroopers 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Ky. He attended Stonewall Jackson High School and worked at Fike Chemical for 17 years. He was a member of the Nitro Moose for over 40 years. James was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Josephine Boggess Eads; parents, Norman A. Eads and Clella M. Eads; sisters, Norma Alexander and Annette Bostic; and one brother, Joe A. Eads. Surviving: children, Kathryn (Richard) Phillips of Vienna, Ill., Christine (Rick) Rose of Roanoke, Va., James Norman Eads Jr. of Vienna Ill., Jennie M. (Monty) Wallace of Chesapeake, and Michael J. Eads of Toledo, Ohio; stepchildren, Harold (Linda) Harper of Cincinnati, Ohio, April (Ronnie) Moore of Hobe Sound, Fla., Angie (Todd) Higginbotham of Winfield and Kelly (Jeff) Moonshower of Marietta, Ga; brother, Ray Eads of North Carolina and Jack Eads of Pennsylvania; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at the Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul G. Cogar Sr. officiating.      Edward Russell "Ed" Stalnaker was buried at Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House, Putnam Co., West Virginia.⁴ He married Norma Lee Eads, daughter of Norman Albert Eads and Clella Mae Poff.⁵ Edward Russell "Ed" Stalnaker was born on February 16, 1920 at Riley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.³ He died on January 19, 2018 at Chillicothe, Ross Co., Ohio, at age 97.⁴ He Mr. Edward R. Stalnaker, 97 of Charleston, WV passed away January 19, 2018 in the VA Medical Center. Mr. Stalnaker is preceded in death by his children Lona Akers, Michael Stalnaker and Lee Allen Stalnaker. He is survived by his children Larry Edward Stalnaker, Gene Stalnaker and Linda Lopresti. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service and a lifelong resident of Putnam and Kanawha counties. He was a member of Nitro Moose Lodge 565 and the American Legion, a Vietnam War veteran and a Baptist. He is survived by one son, Chad E. Stalnaker was born on May 28, 1948 at West Virginia.⁵ She died on December 9, 2017 at West Virginia at age 69.³ She Mrs. Lona J. Akers, 69, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord December 9, 2017. She was a beautician, formerly with Stone & Thomas, and a member of Freedom Promise Ministries. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Akers, and mother, Norma Alexander. Lona is survived by her father, Edward Russell Stalnaker; four children, Patrick Akers and wife Angie, Angela Maynard and husband Randy, Thomas E. Akers Jr., and Christopher Akers and wife Tina; brothers Larry and Gene Stalnaker; grandchildren, Keshia Neal, Jordon Akers, Alana Newman, Eileen Atkinson, Sandy Werner and Christa Hales; and six great-grandchildren. A tribute to the life of Mrs. Lona J. Akers will be 3 p.m. December 16, at Freedom Promise Ministries, Fraziers Bottom, with Pastor Sherry Shamblin officiating. Akers, 57, of Liberty died Aug. 22, 1993, at home after a long illness. He was a 14-year resident of Liberty and attended Paradise Church of God Mission. He was a former employee of Union Boiler, Nitro, and All Crane of St. Albans. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 132, and a Navy veteran. Surviving: wife, Lona Akers; daughter, Angela Allen of Confidence; sons, Patrick and Thomas E. Jr., both of Hurricane, Christopher of Red House; mother, Anna Mae Akers of Ronda; sister, Rita Browning of St. Albans; brothers, John of Marmet, Roy of Chesapeake, Jerry of Charleston; five grandchildren.      Edgar Lee "Eddie" Deterding was buried at Arnold Cemetery, 1 mile south on Highway 40, Arnold, Custer Co., Nebraska.^4,5 He and Barbara Marie Flint were divorced.^3,4 Edgar Lee "Eddie" Deterding was born on February 1, 1938 at Arnold, Custer Co., Nebraska.^1,4,5 He married Barbara Marie Flint, daughter of Arthur Lloyd "Art" Flint and Estelle Viola "Babe" Dillon, on May 13, 1957 at Stapleton, Logan Co., Nebraska.^3,4 Edgar Lee "Eddie" Deterding died on November 2, 2011 at Broken Bow, Custer Co., Nebraska, at age 73.^4,5 He Edgar “Eddie” Lee Deterding, age 73 of Anselmo, passed away Nov. 2, 2011, at Broken Bow.He was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Arnold, to Edgar W. and Cleo Spratt Deterding. He graduated from Arnold High School in 1956. He married Barbara M. Flint in Stapleton, and resided on a farm south of Arnold. To this union four children were born; Susan, Judy, Bruce and Earl.Eddie farmed, ranched, worked at Arnold and Gothenburg sale barns and was a custom cowboy for area ranches.He later married Joyce Huddle, Jan. 25, 1986, in Ogallala. Eddie and Joyce celebrated their 25th anniversary in January. They resided in Anselmo, where Eddie worked at several area ranches until retiring.
