Norman Glenn Sowder was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Fayetteville, Washington Co., Arkansas.3,6 He Norman Glenn Sowder passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of the first of February 2015. A native son of Fayetteville, he enjoyed a truly storied life involving years of service, travel and adventure; but his heart and soul were never far from the place of his birth. Born to Edna and Jack Sowder in 1938, Glenn came into his own growing up in Fayetteville, fostering the beginning of dozens (if not hundreds) of lifelong friendships he would cherish throughout his years. Although many of the stories of his youth share a common theme of good natured “hell-raising” and often involve times enjoyably spent in the pool halls of Dickson Street, he demonstrated a deep and profound commitment to those that gravitated to the circle of his presence at an early age, a trait that would in many ways define his life. His passion for the game of football was without equal and he garnered a name for himself as a rising star of the gridiron in high school, college, during short pre-season trials in the NFL and especially on the fabled U.S. Army Division teams of the 1960’s that were assembled in the Far East. Glenn joined the National Guard and then the Army, serving early in his career in both Korea and Vietnam. Many a veteran to this day must still scratch their head in bemusement at Glenn’s uncanny ability as his unit morale officer to somehow successfully re-outfit the same Vietnamese band in a different set of outfits to play at the officers club every weekend– changing their name and promoting them feverishly as a fresh new band each week (much to the confusion and delight of his fellow Servicemen). Glenn proudly served our Nation for well over two decades, eventually retiring as a Medical Service Corps Lieutenant Colonel following assignments in Korea, Vietnam, Germany and across the United States. Among his many passions and joys included his work with the Big Brothers and Sisters organization, a lifelong dedication to the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, numerous real estate development projects and memorable as well as extremely entertaining runs for the local political offices of Mayor and City Council. Glenn valued friendship above all else, and for those many who were fortunate enough to know him, his presence loomed large in all of our lives. He was one of those rarest and special of individuals, that upon meeting, you could not help but be drawn to (admittedly in alternating cycles of amazement, frustration, gratitude, enjoyment and sometimes even simple slack-jawed incredulousness). He often commented on how rich he felt that his life was for the wonderful parade of people and characters that have inhabited it. His memory will hopefully bring a smile to your face. Glenn is survived by his four children, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. An interment with military honors will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.3 He was born on May 24, 1938 at Fayetteville, Washington Co., Arkansas.3,5,6 He married Sharron Lee Higgins on December 29, 1957 at Washington Co., Arkansas.5 Norman Glenn Sowder and Sharron Lee Higgins were divorced on November 6, 1974 at King Co., Washington.5 Norman Glenn Sowder died on February 1, 2015 at Arkansas at age 76.3,6

Raymond David Cline1,2,3,4

M, b. February 3, 1954, d. September 7, 2021
Raymond David Cline was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.5,4 He Raymond David Cline, Feb 3, 1954 - Sep 7, 2021. Raymond David Cline, 67, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. David was known for being a man of many hats. A jokester, confidant, loving husband and father, but also for his big heart. His love for people was remarkable, he would do anything for anybody, even if it meant going without himself if it meant a total stranger in need could put food on their table. Known for his quick wit, and sense of humor, you could not help but laugh when you were around him. You never knew what he just might say or come up with to catch you off guard. A man who believed in hard work spent many years working at the Lakeside Theme Park in Salem, then going on to work for Holiday Retirement Home as the head of the maintenance department. David loved to work with his hands and could often spot something in need of fixing without a second glance and be able to tell you what needed to be done to fix it. One thing that stood out about him though was the fact that he was someone you could go to when you needed advice, listening carefully and analyzing it all, you were sure to leave the conversation with a new outlook and clear mind. David was one of the good ones, the kind of man you dont often run across anymore these days. It is without secret he has left behind a legacy of love, a sincere compassion for humanity, and hard work to be remembered by, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his previous wife, Janice Cline; father, Raymond Dowell Cline; stepfather, Lloyd Blankenship Buzz; daughter, Vicki Golden; as well as his father & mother-in-law, Louis and Lydia Levano. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Lydia Cline; mother, Maxine Blankenship; sons, Jerry Wayne Cline (Heather), Michael Scott Cline (Ashley), and John Maloney Jr. (Christy); daughter, Lisa Duncan (Timothy); brother, Tommy Cline (Becky); grandchildren, James Matney, Alana Matney, Anthony Cline, Chloe Duncan, Aiden Duncan, and Sophie Maloney; nephew, John Cline; sister-in-law, Ada Scott; special friends, Kathryn and Christopher Matney; as well as numerous other family members and dear friends. He will be laid to rest following a private family graveside service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.5 He was born on February 3, 1954 at Richlands, Tazewell Co., Virginia.1,2,3,5,4 He married Dawn Ella King, daughter of James Clinton King and Norma Lucille Bryant, on September 9, 1973 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1 Raymond David Cline and Dawn Ella King were divorced on December 7, 1993 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.2 Raymond David Cline died on September 7, 2021 at Virginia at age 67.5,4
