Dr. Louis Schneider was buried at Wildwood Cemetery, 1151 Cemetery Street, Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.4 He was born on June 22, 1844 at Huntingdon, Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania.2,3,4,5 He married Jane E. "Jennie" Chatham, daughter of John Hall Chatham and Hannah Anne DeHaas, on August 27, 1875 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania.1,4,7,5,6,8 Dr. Louis Schneider Dr. Louis Schneider one of Williamsport's leading practioners and a physician of eminence, died at his home, No. 239 East Fourth street at 12:30 o'clock this morning. The cause of his death was pneumonia, aggravated by asthma. He was stricken last Saturday, and it soon became evident that the struggle was an unequal one. Dr. Schneider had long been a sufferer from asthma, and complicated with the dread pneumonia little hope was entertained of his recovery. His condition had been critical for several days, and early last evening he began to sink, passing away shortly after midnight. Dr. Schneider was a popular man and the news of his untimely demise will cause general sorrow. Deceased was born at Huntingdon on June 22, 1844, and came to this city with his parents when ten years of age. He was educated in the public schools and at Dickinson Seminary. He commenced the study of medicine in the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Kentucky School of Medicine, at Louisville in 1865. He served in the army as a medical cadet for two years, serving in the hospitals until the close of the war. After the war he located at Charlton, Clinton County, and there practiced his profession until 1884, when he removed to Williamsport, and remained until his death. He was a member of the Lycoming Medical Society and was its President in 1888. He was also a member of the State Medical Society and the American Medical Association. He served at United States Pension Examining Surgeon during President Cleveland's administration, was a member of the Williamsport Board of Health for one year, and also a School Director for several years and a President of the Board. He was also a member Reno Post. Dr. Schneider married Miss Jennie E. Chatham of Clinton county, in 1875 and she, with one son, George Chatham, survive him. He was an ardent supporter of the Williamsport Hospital, a Director and Secretary of the Board. He was progressive and public spirited and a popular gentleman. In addition to his wife and son he is survived by his venerable father, Louis Schneider, a sister, Mrs. Mary K. Wagner, and brother Joseph L., of Newark. on December 29, 1900.5 He died on December 29, 1900 at Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, at age 56.3,4,5

He was the loving grandfather of Douglas Sharp and his wife Monica of New Jersey, Brian Sharp and his wife Carrie of North Carolina, Lynn Brown and her husband Keith of California, and Donald Halliday of Pennsylvania. He was the proud great-grandfather of Benjamin and Stephanie Sharp, Fiona and Lila Sharp and Eric and Jayden Brown. He was a mentor to all who loved him, and he will be greatly missed. Jerrie was married May 29, 1945, to Robert Vaughn Connor for 51.5 years, until his death in 1996. Robert was career Air Force. Consequently, Jerrie lived in many places: New Jersey, Mississippi, New York, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Maryland, New Mexico, Florida, Germany, Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah and Washington state. The world was truly her home! She worked for civil service for 15 years and held many other civilian jobs. She received many awards for superior performance and for suggestions she made in the work place. She was a loyal and steadfast friend to many all over the world from her various duty stations related to Robert’s Air Force career. She continued to attend the 26th Air Depot Air Force Reunion Group that met to honor the men Robert served with in North Africa and India during World War II. Jerrie was a superior student, skipping two grades to graduate at the age of 16 as salutatorian of Boonton High School in New Jersey. She prided herself throughout her life for her independent thinking and precise use of language. She was an avid reader and loved in-depth philosophical and political discussions. Her intellectual curiosity never left her. Her family was of major importance in her life — first, last and always. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her loving daughter, Dana Connor and son-in-law, Roy McMillan; her devoted son, Gary Connor and daughter-in-law, Martha Connor; her cherished granddaughter, Kursta Joslin; her beloved great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Sara, Samantha and McKenna Moore. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Pauline Foster and several cherished nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Eden Institute Inc., 1 Eden Way, Princeton, NJ 08540. A memorial service to honor Jerrie will be held on Friday, December 3rd, at 1 p.m. at the Port Ludlow Beach Club, 121 Marina View Drive, Port Ludlow 98365. on November 12, 2010.1
