He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Carter and Rachel Carter; his grandparents, Crawford and Louise Craighead, Lewis and Bertha Carter; and an uncle, Billy Carter. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Karen Lee Carter; a daughter, Erica Lee Carter, of the home; two aunts, Lavonia Lawhorn, Vinton, Bernice Carter, Roanoke; several cousins, Leanne Fralin, Linda Carter, Bobby Johnson, Peggy Atkins, Ginny Mae Agnew and Ernie Wooldridge; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Norma Lee, Roanoke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Debbie Lee, Greg and Kelly Lee, Debbie and Domenie Castellane; eight nephews; two nieces; and one great-nephew. In addition he is survived by hundreds of close friends and was dearly loved by all. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 1 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 with the Rev. Orlander English and the Rev. Chester Lykens officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. on March 29, 2005.2

Mr. Agnew was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irving and Rachel King, Jabe and Beatrice Agnew. Randy leaves as loving family, his wife, of six years, Karen Wingate Agnew; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki Agnew Attig and Jared Attig of Nashville, Tenn; two sons, Todd Wayne Agnew, Joshua Ryan Agnew; his father and mother, Irvin S. Agnew and Virginia King Agnew; a stepson, Joseph Matthew Walters; two stepdaughters, Melanie Kristen Walters, Maura Alexandra Walters all of Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Ken Gray of Dallas, Ga; a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Elizabeth Agnew of Roanoke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Imogene Wingate of Salem; four nephews, two nieces, a great-nephew, a great-niece, an aunt, Mrs. Carl "Turk" (Eleanor) Peverall of Winston Salem, N.C., and a close friend, Wallace Jamison of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday from First Church of the Nazarene (728 Highland Avenue, Southeast) with Pastor Earl Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park, where Randy will be laid to rest beside his granddaddy King. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. on May 26, 1999.2

Wingate, of Salem; sister, Susan Wingate Fleming and husband, Garry; brother, Joseph Gregory Wingate and wife, Kimberly, all of Roanoke; special friend and "sweetie", Edgar J. Wilson; special friends, Regina and Mario Adams, Teresa and Leonard Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society , 2840 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018 or to Southview United Methodist Church, 3539 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road, with Pastor Larry Edmonds. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
