A native of Chester County, PA, she had lived most of her life in West Palm Beach, FL before moving to Clay County in 1998. She was the daughter of the late Joshua F. Love and Mildred Love Melrath and the wife of the late Richard A. Teel, Sr., who died in 1998. She had been an executive vice-president in banking, working with First State Bank from 1979 to 1989 and with Great Southern from 1989 to 1997. Sally was a member of the Ledford's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard A. Teel, Jr. and a brother, Walter C. Love. Memorial services in the Ledford's Chapel United Methodist Church. Inurnment in the church cemetery.² Her married name was Teel.      Helen Sue Weddle was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.⁷ She was born on August 27, 1925 at Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia. She married Lt. Col. Leon Malcolm Burgess on December 24, 1945 at Harrogate, Claiborne Co., Tennessee.^3,8,2,9 As of December 24, 1945,her married name was Burgess.² Helen Sue Weddle died on June 2, 2018 at Anderson, Anderson Co., South Carolina, at age 92.⁹ She It's been said that it's not the years in your life but the life in your years that matter. Helen Sue Burgess, age 92, had both. Born in 1925 in Check, VA, Sue traveled the world and was the "adopted" mother for many young men and women. A trailblazing and adventurous woman, Sue had a private pilot's license in the 1940's at a time when many women didn't even drive. She drove a jeep in a munitions factory during WWII. An avid water skier, she was asked to be on a ski team in her 20's, but opted instead to start a family and focus on her children. Wanting to pass on her love of the sport, she astonished people by water skiing with her children when they were toddlers. As the years went by she added snow skiing, backpacking, camping, canoeing, and horses to her sports repertoire, all of which she did with her growing family. In the mid-1960's Sue returned to school, obtaining her Master's degree in Education from the University of Central Missouri. She excelled in graduate school while raising her children, fulfilling the responsibilities of a military officer's wife, and volunteering at church as the choir director. She worked for several years as a school counselor and English teacher before becoming the Dean of Women at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC in 1974. After retiring in 1987 Helen Sue and Leon moved to Anderson, SC to fulfill their dream of retiring on a lake. In 1992 she spent a summer in China as a secret Baptist missionary under the guise of teaching English to young professionals. She stayed in touch with many of her Chinese students and sponsored some of them to come study in the United States. Her retirement years were spent enjoying travel and entertaining her large extended family on Lake Hartwell. She was an active member of New Prospect Baptist Church, singing in the choir and participating in the Prospectors Senior Adult program. Helen Sue Burgess was a deeply committed Christian who had a positive impact on those who knew her and will be sorely missed. She lived what she believed. She died peacefully at home June 2, 2018 after living with Alzheimer's for more than a decade. Like a good choir director, she took her last breath as her children sang the Doxology at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leon Burgess, a career Air Force officer. She is survived by her sister, Roberte Lee Francis of Orlando FL, her six children, Laura Stevens (Dan Callahan) of Hernando MS, Lucinda Carlson (Charley) of Midway KY, Merry Boyd (Bob) of Anderson SC, Melody Bock (John) of Plano, TX, Dean Burgess (Paige) of Sanford NC, and Claude Burgess (Jane) of Zionsville IN, 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. on June 4, 2018.⁹

     Jeffrey Scott "Jeff" Teel Jeffrey Scott Teel, 52, of Hayesville passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his residence. He had lived most of his life in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jeff later moved to Hayesville in 1998 where he worked at Coleman Cable. Jeff enjoyed playing guitar, building models, and painting. He was the son of the late Richard and Sally Love Teel. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rick Teel. Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Teel of Cape Coral, Florida; and a brother, Gary Lee Teel of Hayesville. No services are planned at this time. Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville in charge of arrangements.³ He married Kelly Unknown.² Jeffrey Scott "Jeff" Teel was born circa 1965.³ He died on September 19, 2017 at Hayesville, Clay Co., North Carolina.³

     Jean Powers married Edward Harvey Teel, son of James Goggins Teel and Sarah Amanda Wimmer.¹ Her Social Security Number was 179-26-5700.² Jean Powers was buried at Little Elk Friends Meetinghouse Cemetery, Oxford, Chester Co., Pennsylvania.³ Her married name was Teel.      Earl Allison Heck was buried at Townsend Cemetery, Townsend, New Castle Co., Delaware.⁴ He was born on September 19, 1913 at Harford Co., Maryland.³ He married Clytie Arica Teel, daughter of James Goggins Teel and Sarah Amanda Wimmer, on January 30, 1939 at West Grove, Chester Co., Pennsylvania.^2,4 Earl Allison Heck died on December 25, 1956 at Salem Co., New Jersey, at age 43.^1,4 He Earl A. Heck, 43, husband of Clytie Tell (should be Teel) Heck of Blackbird died yesterday morning in The Memorial Hospital after an illness of about four months. Mr. Heck had formerly lived in Street, Md. and had moved to Delaware about 10 years ago. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip N. Heck of Blackbird; a son, Norman A. Heck, at home; two brothers, Elvon E. Heck of Street and Charles D. Heck of Perryville, Md; and two sisters, Mrs. Glen Mauzy of Bel Air, Md., and Mrs. Phares Burger of Smithburg. Md. Services will be at the Daniel's Funeral Home in Townsend at 2 p.m. Friday. Intermemnt will be in Townsend Cemetery. on December 26, 1956.⁴
