With a quiet and gentle manner, Burton shared his love and Christian ministry with a multitude of people in his brief 29 years on earth before succumbing to melanoma. His service to God began at an early age at Enon United Methodist Church. In his youth at Atlee High School in Hanover County he was instrumental in founding the school's first Bible Club and the first "See You at the Pole" prayer service, always having Bibles handy to give to others. His ministry led him from nursing home visitations in Lynchburg, Va. to aiding orphans in Russia. A graduate of Liberty University, Burton later studied at Columbia International University where he received a Master of Divinity degree. He was awarded the title of Reverend by the Assemblies of God Church. More recently, Burton's quiet passion for Jesus Christ led him to a chaplain's residency at Maryview Medical Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. Burton was a gifted writer and reviewer of Christian books, music, concerts and movies. He also loved Starbucks, LU women's basketball, the Pittsburg Steelers, photography, and being with family and friends. Burton was a loving son, a caring brother, a loyal friend to many and a devoted servant of the Lord. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bernard and Bonnie Wray; sister, Beth Wray; two nieces, Skylar and Lavendar; grandparents, Dewey and Marion Waldron, Bernard and Christine Wray (deceased); aunts and uncles, Danny Waldron, Peggy and Doug Tatro, David and Kate Waldron, Stanley Wray, Bernardine and Johnny Vega; and a host of loving cousins and devoted friends, including his best friends, Ben and Trina Fabian, and Paul and Sarah Hoffman.
