He was retired from the Navel Service Weapons Center where he worked in electronics. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict in Germany. He married Elizabeth “Libby” Frances Link Griffith in 1982 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Surviving with his wife are 2 daughters, Marie Shawn-Del of Winchester, VA and Sherry Starliper of Winchester, VA; a sister, Karen Robinette of Herndon, VA; 2 brothers, Marvin C. Griffith, Jr. of Reston, VA and Chris V. Griffith of Winchester, VA; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA with Rev. Anthony Wadsworth officiating.
