Caroline Shafer died on August 25, 1936 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 80.^1,3 She Mrs. Caroline Elmore, 80, of Bigley avenue died last night at her home after a long illness. Her body was taken to the Bartlett mortuary pending funeral arrangements. Mrs. Elmore was a member of Elmore Memorial Advent Christian church. Survivors include a nephew, Holley Paxton, whom she reared, and several other nephews and nieces; two brothers, Shelton Shafer of Walton and Columbus Shafer of Frame. Her husband, Robert C. Elmore, died June 16 of this year. on August 26, 1936.³
