     Mary Custis Bower Mary Custis Bower Lotts peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on March 2, 1935, in Welch, West Virginia, and was a cherished member of Central United Methodist Church in Salem, Virginia. Mary had an extraordinary talent and love for needle crafts, with a particular passion for sewing, needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Known for her intricate work, she shared her creations at craft shows, bringing joy to all who saw her beautiful artistry. Mary was also lovingly known for her many years of hemming countless pairs of pants for her son, a testament to her dedication to family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Miles A. Lotts; her parents, Custis Burwell Bower and Ruby Estelle Echols Bower; her brother, Robert Burwell Bower; her sister-in-law, Brenda Blevins Bower; and her nephew, Christopher Burwell Bower. Mary’s memory will be forever cherished by her son, Kevin Lynn Lotts; her grandson, Justin Lynn Lotts, and his wife, Sara; her adored great-grandchildren, Audrey JoAnn Lotts, and Jackson Lynn Lotts; and her extended Bower, Lotts, and Echols families and friends. He is survived by his ex-wife, Mary B. Lotts, Salem; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tonja Lotts, Johnson City, Tenn; two brothers, Harless Lotts, Roanoke, Jim Lotts, Wilmington, N.C; one sister, Joyce Camper, Sanford, N.C; one grandson, Justin Lotts, Johnson City, Tenn. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Lotz Salem Chapel, 2 p.m., with the Rev. Earnest Wood officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m . Tuesday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. on June 30, 1998.⁵

It is with sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of Christopher Burwell Bower of Salem, Virginia on Friday August 27, 2021. Chris was 53 years old and taken too soon by COVID-19 plus underlying health conditions. Chris is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert Burwell Bower and Brenda Blevins Bower, grandparents, Custis Burwell Bower and Ruby Echols Bower, Frank George Blevins and Pauline Blevins, and uncles, Miles Lotts and Frank Blevins. Chris is lovingly remembered by surviving members of his family, uncle Ron Blevins (Linda), aunts Mary Custis Bower Lotts and Anne Blevins, cousins, Kevin Lotts, Andy Blevins (Laurie), Ryan Blevins, Kim Janney (Sean), and Kelly Pittman (Derrick), a large extended family, his loving girlfriend, Janet Moore Shaffer and her family, countless friends, and his beloved dogs, Skyler, Otis, and Jaxx. Chris was a lifelong Salem resident, a graduate of Salem High School and Roanoke College, and ran Motorcars Unlimited Sales and Service, LLC.⁴ He was born on June 17, 1968 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,4,5 He married Sandra Ann Wormuth on September 29, 2005 at Bath Co., Virginia.⁷ Christopher Burwell Bower and Sandra Ann Wormuth were divorced on March 30, 2007 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.³ Christopher Burwell Bower died on August 27, 2021 at Virginia at age 53.^4,5
