The family will receive friends Friday, April 4, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. A graveside service will be held at a later date.      Hazel Gibson was buried at Troutville Cemetery, Troutville, Botetourt Co., Virginia.1 Her married name was Crowder.2 She married Earl Lee Crowder Sr., son of John Thomas Crowder and Mary Elizabeth Overstreet.2,1 Hazel Gibson was born on July 5, 1924.1 She died on August 14, 2014 at Virginia at age 90.1 She Hazel Gibson Crowder, 90, of Botetourt, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2014. She was born on July 5, 1924, a daughter of the late Otis and Vergie Gibson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Crowder Sr; brothers, Otha Gibson, Leonard Gibson and Lester Gibson; and sisters, Hattie Lucas, Rachael Wellons, Stella Thomas and Juanita Moore. Surviving are her sons, Earl L. "Corky" Crowder Jr. (Linda) and Michael R. Crowder and former wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Meagan, Melissa, Jeffery, Darin, Greg, Karen, Larry Lee and Wendi; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; special niece, Kay Mills; and numerous other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the staff at Our Lady of the Valley and Good Samaritan Hospice for all the care and support. A celebration of Hazel's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014, at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville, with Pastor Brian Lawrence and Jeff Crowder officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville. Burial to follow at Troutville Cemetery. on August 17, 2014.1

     Thomas Jefferson Coffman Jr. Thomas Jefferson Coffman, age 99, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at his home. He was born on September 1, 1920, in Letart, WV, the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Coffman, Sr. and the late Delphia Mae Belcher Radford. Thomas married Barbara Jean Hoover Coffman, who preceded him in death on February 13, 2014. Mr. Coffman was a lifetime member of the Painter's Union #970, Frankin Moose #769, and Smith Creek Church of the Brethren. He was a well-known painter in the Franklin and surrounding areas, and it was said that he had painted everything in Franklin, except the Courthouse. Mr. Coffman is survived by his daughter, Shirley Ann Newman of Charleston, WV; stepson, Jeff Hoover and wife Jo of Goodwater, AL; a granddaughter, Tina Marie Newman of Hernando, FL; also good friends, Rick and Margie Carly, and Ernie and Becky Hindman of Pennsylvania. In honoring Mr. Coffman's wishes, his body has been cremated. His family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8, 2020, 10-11 AM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Calvin Bailey officiating.
