Robare, a resident of Philomath for the past four years, died at 10:30 Wednesday evening at the family home. He had been failing for the past three years. The son of David and Millie Conner Robare, he was born in Ashland, Nebraska, March 14, 1886. May 8, 1907, he married Fern E. Darnell. The couple lived in Nebraska and Colorado and came to Oregon in 1929 to locate in Salem. Mr. Robare had been employed by the Ed Albertson lumber company of Philomath. Surviving with the widow, are one daughter, Mrs. J. K. Hulsey of Crescent, and four sons, Norman, with the U. S. navy at Balboa; W. A., of Gilchrist; Jimmy, with the U. S. fleet in Pacific waters; and Dale, with the army in Australia. Other survivors are the mother, Mrs. Millie Robare of Hastings, Nebraska, four sisters and three brothers also residing in Nebraska, and three grandsons. The funeral service will be held in the Keeney chapel Monday afternoon at 1:30, with Rev. Morris Goodrich of Philomath in charge. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial park. on July 3, 1942.9

He passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva on March 23, 1978, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 22 days. Mr. Robare was the fourth child in a family of seven children. He is survived by a sister, Florence, of Phoenix, Ariz., and a brother, Paul, of Hastings. David grew up in Butler and Saunders counties and as a young man moved to Webster county where he was engaged in farming. On February 6, 1918, he was united in marriage to Alma M. Zimmerman. To this union were born six children, Kenneth of Geneva, Mrs. John (Doris) Weber of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mrs. H.T. (Lois) Owings of West Columbia, S.C., Dean of Lincoln, Gordon of Geneva, Mrs. Gene (Donna) Leninger of Aurora; 23 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. They resided on a farm east of Blue Hill, Neb. They moved to the Geneva community in 1937, and were engaged in farming until 1962, when they moved into their new home at 426 So. 12th Street in Geneva, where they lived as long as their health permitted. In June, 1975, they moved to Heritage where they resided until Alma’s death in February, 1976. Dave then moved to Long Term Care at Fillmore County hospital where he lived until his death. Dave was an active member of the United Brethren church and at present was a member of the United Congregational church of Geneva. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 27, 1978, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Geneva, with Rev. Marshal Hinds and Rev. Jay Funk officiating. Mrs. Kenneth Prater sang “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art,” accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster. Pallbearers were Kenneth Jr., and Richard Robare, James and John Leninger, Mike Shaner and Dan Lauenstein. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. on March 30, 1978.4

     Fred Edmond Caton was buried at Milo Cemetery, Milo, Vernon Co., Missouri.4,5 He was born on February 25, 1882 at Vernon Co., Missouri.6,4,5 He married Caroline Conner, daughter of John Hamilton Conner and Sarah Rosanna Wyant, on July 5, 1903 at Vernon Co., Missouri.7,8,4,9,5,10 Fred Edmond Caton died on February 5, 1958 at Nevada, Vernon Co., Missouri, at age 75.4,5 He Fred Edmond Caton, 75, farmer and former tax collector and constable in Drywood township, died at 4:45 o'clock Saturday morning at his home in Nevada. He had been in failing health for the past six months. Mr. Caton was born near Milo on Feb. 25, 1882. On July 5, 1903, he was married to Caroline Conner, who survives. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; two children, Mrs. Ollie McClellan, Milo, and Orville Caton, Chanute, Kan; two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Selim, Moundville, and Mrs. Bessie Pugh, Virgil, Kan., and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Milo Christian Church with burial in the Milo cemetery. The body will lie in state at Beeny Funeral Home in Sheldon. on February 9, 1958.5

She was a member of the Baptist Church and a 25-year member of the Sheldon Order of the Eastern Star. From 1945-1969 she was the postmaster at Milo. Survivors include two sons, Harold McClellan of Neosho and Fred McClellan of Grand Blanc; one brother, Orville Canton [Caton] of Cushing, Okla; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Willis Fowler officiating. Interment will be in the Milo Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. on January 29, 1980.3

Caton, Cushing Okla., formerly of Nevada, died Monday, March 2, 1987, at the Tulsa (Okla.) St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. Born July 24, 1906, in Nevada, the son of Fred Edmond and Caroline (Conner) Caton, he was raised and educated in Nevada. He was married September 15, 1957, in Missouri to Beatrice Harry. In 1936 he was employed by the Texaco-City Service Pipeline. In 1960 his company transferred him to Cushing. He retired in 1972. He was a member of the Calvary Worship Center in Cushing and the Cushing Masonic Lodge. Survivors include: his wife, Beatrice, of the home; three daughters, Juanita Lyon and Alberta Caton, both of Independence, and Norma Black of Kansas City; one son, Orville E. "Sonny" Caton, Independence; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 1987, at the Calvary Worship Center in Cushing, with the Rev. Harold "Bo" Daniel officiating. The Hackler Funeral Home of Cushing is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. on March 4, 1987.9
