He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1948, where he was the first student at Sigourney to have on the job training, and he also shined shoes at Red Ruby's barber shop after school. He married Fern Burlee Behnamann on June 28, 1953 at the Sigourney Christian Church with Rev. Robert Hall officiating. He was employed at the First Trust and Savings Bank in Sigourney for over 45 years, retiring in 1993 under the ownership of Boatman's Bank. He was a member of the Sigourney Christian Chruch where he was an elder, deacon, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served on many church committees. He was active in many civic and community projects serving as treasurer for the Sigourney Community School, the Chamber of Commerce, Keokuk County Red Cross, March of Dimes, Tuberculosis Association, Salvation Army and served as guardian, conservator and executor for many people. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association, a 55 year member of the Sigourney Odd Fellows Lodge and a charter member and treasurer of the Keokuk County Izaak Walton League. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Linda Bickford of Ottumwa; two grandchildren; five sisters, Betty Ingle of Sigourney, Kathleen Bailey of Omaha, Neb; Mary Jane Kerber of Sigourney; Marlene Hicks of Long Beach, Miss. and Carolyn Erwin of Tucson, Ariz; six brothers, Harold of Sigourney, Richard of Hayesville, Peter of Anaheim, Calif., Raymond of Brigham City, Utah, Francis of San Antonio, Texas and Don of Hemet, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert Jeffrey. Funeral services will be Wednesday Dec. 28 (today) at 1:30 p.m. at the Sigourney Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Bringman officiating. Burial will be in Conner Cemetery near Sigourney. A memorial may be made to the Sigourney Christian Church or Keokuk County Hospice. Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney were in charge of arrangements.

He came to Keokuk county when he was 16 years of age and was naturalized a United States citizen in 1919. While still in Germany he did tinning and plumbing. He married Edna Utterback at Delta Feb. 20, 1917 and she died March 22, 1964. He married Gladys Conner Hahn Feb. 19, 1967 at Washington. He lived west of Sigourney until moving into Sigourney in 1971. Mr. Schultheiss was a member of the Christian church, was an elder, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Keokuk County Historical Society. He did woodworking specializing in inlaid wood clocks and decorative brackets. He was also an active gardener. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; a daughter, Johanna Boyer; a granddaughter, Doris Ann Bower and a great granddaughter, Joyce Bower. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Myrtle B. Pence; a sister Johanna Steinhart; two brothers, Stephen Schultheiss and Gustave Schultheiss. Services were Oct. 30 at the Sigourney Christian church. She married Robert Technik in St. Louis, Mo., on March 3, 1956. Joan was elected queen of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, an international sorority. She was an accordion teacher for Boddicker School of Music. Joan was an avid golfer and won many tournaments in the Cedar Rapids area. She liked to bowl and play bridge, Joan was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday school. Joan's greatest love was for her family and spending time together with them. She will be deeply missed. on September 30, 2010.6

He married Joan Jacobson on March 3, 1956, in St. Louis, Mo. He worked for J.F. Technik and Sons Painting and Decorating, FashionPar Homes, Straub Painting, and then retired from the Cedar Rapids school system. Bob loved spending time with his family, vacationing and fishing on Otter Tail Lake and on the Wapsi with “Kubs.” He loved traveling to Chicago to see a Cubs or Bears game and was an avid Hawkeye fan. Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. He was a kind, compassionate and caring friend to many and will be deeply missed. on October 20, 2012.2

Sapp (Pinkie) and James A. Sapp Jr; sisters-in-law, Susan Creasy (Mike) and Clarice Robertson (Terry); and a special friend, Lynwood Craft. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of his Life will be held at noon on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Pastor Shannon Harris will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. on October 30, 2016.2

     Donald Odell Dooley Donald Odell “Donnie” Dooley, 72, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. He was born on October 14, 1947, in Roanoke, Va. to the late Damon Odell and Elizabeth Steber Dooley. Donnie was no stranger to hard work and faithfully served the citizens in Roanoke City within the water and sewer department, for over 25 years prior to retiring. He was proud that he was able to be a part of the team that helped in the pipe laying project at Carvins Cove that supplies Roanoke and surrounding areas with drinking water. Donnie had a love for old cars, motorcycles, and boating, and could be found bowling at times, however, his passion in life was fishing. Especially his deep-sea fishing in the search for Marlin. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to anyone that truly knew him. He will be missed! In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Damon Dooley; and his sister, Arbadella Dooley. Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 54 years, Jean Dooley, of Salem; four sons, Richard Wayne “Ricky” Dooley (Sondra), Robert D. Dooley, both of Salem, Raymond Thomas Dooley, of Montgomery County, and Ronnie A. Dooley, of Roanoke; sister, Barbara Baldwin, of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Desi, Ricky Jr., Cody, Evan, Eli, and Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services to honor Donnie’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 2 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son funeral home in Salem, with Pastor Chris Kingery officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.2 He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.2 He was born on October 14, 1947 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,3 He married Carolyn Jeanette "Jean" Clifton on August 5, 1966 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4 Donald Odell Dooley died on August 22, 2020 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 72.2
