She was a longtime resident of Metalton, where she raised her family. A homemaker, she was of the Christian faith. In addition to members of the Terry family, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, William Sanford Showalter; sons, James Howard, Raymond and Steven Paul Showalter; and a grandson, Rodney Wayne Martin. Mabel is the beloved mother of Kenny Showalter and his wife, Debbie, of Gauley Bridge; Robert Showalter of Beaver; Gary Showalter and his wife, Cathy, and Rebecca Martin and James Sydenstricker, all of Beckley, and Cathy Martin and her husband, Rodney, of Chico, Calif; the dear grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children; the fond sister of Greg Terry and his wife, Sandy, of Eccles; Ronnie Terry and his wife, Jane, of Kenova; Harold Terry and his wife, Suzy, of Lima, Ohio; Donald Terry and his wife, Cathy; Billy Dean and Ronald Terry; Willa Mae Kimball and her husband, George “Red,” all of Washington Court House, Ohio; Bessie Bass and her husband, Herbert, of Flat Rock, Mich., and Jessie Cochran of Beckley. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Randy Pugh offciating. Burial will follow in the Trail Cemetery at Surveyor. Friends may call noon until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be: Tommy Cochran, Kenny, Gary and Clinton Showalter, Greg, Ronald and Harold Terry, and James Sydenstricker. Willa Mae Terry WILLA MAE KIMBALL, age 85, of Washington CH, transitioned peacefully from this life on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington CH. She was born on August 29, 1932 in West Virginia to Dewey and Thelma Webb Terry. She had been a housewife for most of her adult life. Willa was a loving and devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, cooking, and caring for her feline companions. Willa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband for more than sixty years, George Robert Kimball; infant son, Anthony Robert Kimball; and siblings, Bobby, Jimmy, Mabel, Louise, and Jessie. Survivors include her siblings, Donald (Cathy Forsha) Terry, Bill (Roni) Terry, Harold (Sue) Terry, Ronald (Jane) Terry, Gregory (Sandy) Terry, and Bessie Bass; and special nephew, Stephen (Caitlin) Forsha. Also surviving are several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The graveside service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating.6 She was buried at Washington Cemetery, 1741 Washington Avenue, Washington Court House, Fayette Co., Ohio.6,7 She was born on August 29, 1932 at West Virginia.6,7 As of December 27, 1951,her married name was Kimball.4 She married George Robert "Red" Kimball on December 27, 1951 at Fayette Co., Ohio.1,2,4,6 Willa Mae Terry died on April 1, 2018 at Washington Court House, Fayette Co., Ohio, at age 85.6

Surviving are her three children, CL Sigmon, Cecil (Sandy) Sigmon, Mike (Patty) Sigmon; stepdaughter, Nancy Smith; and stepson, Jimmy (JoAnn) Poindexter; four grandchildren, Dreama Barbour, Kim (Lonnie) Janney, Tracy (Brad) Holley, Justin (Rita) Sigmon; two stepgrandchildren, Kristi (Jack) Norton and Kelli (Shawn) Shively; eight great-grandchildren, Megan, Logan, Kolton, Cameron, Tyler, Taylor, Brooklynn and Brystal; five stepgreat-grandchildren, Summer, Jackson, Payton, Camden and Kailee; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016, conducted at the Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doug Sasser officiating. Interment will follow at Republican Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel and other times at her house 200 Old Fort Road, Rocky Mount, Va. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. on July 7, 2016.3

Ocie was preceded in death by her parents, James Willis Smith and Sarah Terry Smith; husband, Dalton Dennis Sloan; her eldest son, Kenneth Dalton Sloan; and many siblings, Lollie Jones, Leonard Smith, Edna Scott, Lessie Peters, Bessie Peters, Artis Smith, Raymond Smith, Donald Smith, Leo Smith Sigmon and a set of twins that died shortly after birth. She is survived by a sister, Viola S. Sigmon Poindexter; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Lee Sloan (Joyce), and Cleo Ray Sloan (Regina) and a special daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ann Grodensky; ten grandchildren, Kenneth Dalton Sloan Jr., Kimberly Sloan Snider, Shelley Sloan Mounce, Dennis Lee Sloan Jr., Cleo Ray Sloan Jr., Susanne Sloan, Melissa Stanley Frith, Tina Holt, Brandi Keatts, Jason Grodensky and eleven great-grandchildren. Ocie retired from Bassett Superior Lines Furniture Company at the age of 67. In her younger years she was a homemaker and enjoyed farming, gardening and babysitting. She was a very hard worker who loved her family, especially the joys of her life, her grandchildren, and she was most often referred to as "Granny Crack" by all of them. She was well known for cracking jokes and making people laugh and she always attributed her long life to the "love of drinking milk" every day. Ocie resided at Fork Mountain Rest Home (FMRH) the last four years of her life. A special thank you to Carilion Clinic Hospice nursing staff and physicians, and FMRH staff. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Mr. Scotty Mounce officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. on May 4, 2012.3

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 1998 at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. DeRoy Campbell and the Rev. A. Dave Snead officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge of arrangements. on August 3, 1998.2
