Adley worked for the Kansas Inspection Bureau after settling in the K.C. area. He was a lifetime member of the Blue Goose International. He was also a lifetime member of the Hayes Masonic Lodge. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Ida Jane and Adlai Caldwell; 5 sisters; 1 brother and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, February 14, at Green Acres Mortuary. Family requests memorial donations be given to the church or charity of their choice. on February 15, 2007.4

Mrs. Hargett, who was 32 years of age, was the wife of Pascell Hargett and the mother of a 16 months old daughter, Patricia Ann. The Rev. George W. Patterson, pastor of the First Christian church, conducted the rites this afternoon at the home ot Mrs. Hargett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Caldwell, and burial was made at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were T. J. Jackson, U. C. Mullins, Frank Whitworth, Alton Jaggers, Joe Applebaum and Arch Lindsey. Mrs. Hargett, who was cited by educators of this county as one of the best first grade teachers the county school system ever had, had taught, in the school at Number Nine for the past seven years. A native of Missouri, she moved to Blytheville when a child and after graduating from the city high school attended Arkansas State Teachers college, at Conway, and later did special work at Arkansas State college, Jonesboro. She is also survived by two brothers, Herschel Caldwell of Durham, N.C., who is here, and Chester Caldwell, of here, and two sisters, Mrs. Essie Landennie, and Mrs. Lagrone Whittle, also of this city. on July 5, 1938.6

He came to this county with his father, the late E. H. Caldwell, who arrived at Barfield in 1914 to teach school. Mr. Caldwell was active in sports in this area as a young man and played varsity baseball at the University of Alabama while a student there. Later, he played semi-pro baseball in the mid-south. He served on the board of Drainage District Nine and was a former president of Blytheville Lions Club and the Country Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a Mason. He was a native of Gainesville, Mo. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruth Caldwell; two sons, Chester Abbott Caldwell, Jr., and Dan Caldwell, both of Blytheville; his mother, Mrs. Delia Caldwell, Blytheville; two sisters, Mrs. Lagrone Whittle and Mrs. Essie Lendennie, both of Blytheville, and two grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Hershel Caldwell, a famous Blytheville High School and University of Alabama football player who is a member of the coaching staff of Duke University, Durham, N.C. The family has requested that any memorials go to Mississippi County Heart Fund, c/o J. F. Etchieson, Box 484, Blytheville. Pallbearers will be Eugene Still, E. M. Regenold, W. J. Pollard, E. B. Gee, Sr., Frank Whitworth, L. E. Old, Jack Horner, Albert Taylor, Riley Jones, J. V. Gates, B. B. Goodman and Fred Fleeman. on March 31, 1960.3

Mr. Caldwell was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Blytheville, to Chester Abbott and Ruth Hughes Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell was a graduate of Blytheville High School and Duke University. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity, a veteran of the Korean War and retired as a Major in the United States Air Force. He spent his entire working career as a farmer and cotton ginner and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Caldwell is survived by his wife, Doris Bean Caldwell of the home; Two daughters, Catherine Caldwell Canale of Memphis and Constance Caldwell Walker of Montgomery, Ala; A son, Chester Abbott Caldwell III of Abilene, Texas; Four grandsons, Zachary David Caldwell and Samuel Abbott Caldwell, both of Abilene, Texas, and James Edward Walker IV of Montgomery, Ala., and A brother, Daniel Huffman Caldwell of Blytheville. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev.      Daniel Huffman "Dan" Caldwell was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Blytheville, Mississippi Co., Arkansas.7 He married Mary Alice “Mame” Wroten.5,8 Daniel Huffman "Dan" Caldwell was born on October 4, 1929 at Blytheville, Mississippi Co., Arkansas.5,7 He died on July 6, 2020 at Mississippi Co., Arkansas, at age 90.5 He Daniel Huffman Caldwell of Blytheville peacefully departed this life on July 6, 2020, surrounded by family at the age of 90. Born and raised in Blytheville to the late Chester Abbott and Ruth Hughes Caldwell, Dan graduated from Blytheville High School and Duke University, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He then served in the Air Force during the Korean War before returning “home”. He was much beloved by his family and the Blytheville community. Dan was an avid sports fan embracing both St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Duke College basketball. He also loved fishing and playing golf. His true passions, however, were his family and the family farm. Dan spent 48 seasons farming alongside his brother Chester Caldwell Jr. Retiring from agriculture in 2002, Dan then obtained his real estate license and joined forces with his wife, Mary Alice “Mame” Caldwell, at Century 21 McWaters Realty, where they worked tirelessly together until her death in 2012. Dan was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mame; brother, Chester; and faithful long-time canine companion Weasel, who accompanied Dan’s every step and truck ride. He leaves three children, Daniel Caldwell, Jr. of Princess Anne, Md., Cecilia Wroten Caldwell (Linda) of Maple Glen, Penn., and Edwin Harmon Caldwell (Karen) of Franklin, Tenn; four grandchildren, Lydia Ruth and Henry Huffman Caldwell of Pennsylvania and Anna Sophia and Langston Cooper Caldwell of Tennessee. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family will host a celebration of Dan’s life at a later date. In the sweet by and by we will meet on that beautiful shore.... on July 10, 2020.5
