Marlys also owned and operated Ione's Linen and Baby shop in Buena Vista. James and Marlys moved to the Phoenix area in 1989 to be closer to their children. For Marlys, the most important thing was her family. She was happiest when she was with family. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Rubye Marshall; her brother, Robert Marshall; and her husband, James Vanderpool. Marlys is survived by her children Pamela Witham (husband Paul) of Scottsdale, Mark (wife Margaret) of Cortez, CO., Doug (wife, Shelly) of Green River, Wyo., sister Willa Pickrel (husband, Don) of Lone Tree, CO., 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
