Although Janet had no children of her own, she helped raise three children with loving arms. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Hillard Sisson; parents, Edward and Rebekah Walker; brothers, Clarence and Bernard Walker; and sisters, Margaret Murphy and Alice Boyd Walker. She is survived by a great-niece, Charlene Reed of Sissonville; niece, Mary Virginia Nolan of Charleston; and nephews, Thomas Murphy of Charleston and Boyd Reed of Sissonville. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 10, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Terri Deane officiating. Burial will follow at Sissons Cemetery, Sissonville. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dovie's Private Care Home so everyone will know how much they have meant to Janet and our family. Thank you truly. We are grateful there are still people like you. Everyone who knew Janet respected her for her dedication and loyalty to the Lord, and she will be sadly missed. State Police Cpl. A. A. Delford of the Chelyan detachment identified the driver of the other car as Virgil Bradberry, 29, of Smithers. Bradberry suffered a gashed nose. Elmore, the officer said, was leaving work to go to his home on George's Creek Drive at the time of the mishap. He died a few minutes after being admitted to the hospital. Elmore's body is at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home in the Perryville Baptist Church near Cinco, with the Rev. Morris Macemore in charge. Burial will follow in Putney cemetery.
