     Mary Evelyn Porterfiield Mary Baldwin transitioned from this earthly life into the fullness of God's Love on Thursday, June 2, 2022. She valiantly battled Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. She fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. Mary was born, March 22, 1931 in Princeton, WV. She lived in Prices Fork, VA until she was 7 years old when her father George A. Porterfield died. Her mother moved back to Princeton and later moved to Bluefield in Mary's middle school years. Mary graduated from Bluefield High School and went to work for Bell Telephone as an operator. She met the handsome Bill Baldwin at Frankye's Restaurant and though his stint in the Army was an interruption in dating, all good things are worth waiting for. Mary and Bill were married for 59 years before Bill's death in 2012. Theirs was a relationship of authentic love. Family adventures were a way of life. In retirement they hit the road in an RV for months of the year. You must really like someone to enjoy living that close together...and they did. Mary worked for several years at Which Craft and learned to make almost every craft the store sold. But her greatest vocation was mother. There is no higher calling and Mary loved her children well. She freely expressed her pride in them. What an incredible gift and blessing she has given. All who knew her enjoyed her warm, chatty, witty way of interacting. She was fun-loving and faith-loving. Always in our hearts, she will be deeply missed. The family is grateful to Karen Friedberg and Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care and support. Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband: William H. "Bill" Baldwin. She is survived by daughter, Tricia Baldwin of Fort Worth Texas; son, Stan Baldwin. (wife Teresa Wriston Baldwin) of Bluefield, WV; brother, Scott Collier (wife Wanda) of Bluefield; grandson, Austin Baldwin; 3 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.⁴ She was born on March 22, 1931 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^3,4 As of April 4, 1953,her married name was Baldwin.³ She married William Herman Baldwin Jr. on April 4, 1953 at Tazewell, Tazewell Co., Virginia.^2,3,5,4 Mary Evelyn Porterfiield died on June 2, 2022 at age 91.⁴

     Her Social Security Number was 234-18-3535.² Her married name was Thompson.¹ Marie Stinson married Norris Jessie Thompson, son of James David Thompson and Minnesota S. "Minnie" Vest.¹ Marie Stinson was born on July 22, 1912 at West Virginia.^3,2 She died on April 30, 1979 at Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at age 66.^1,4 She THOMPSON, Marie (nee Stinson), beloved wife of the late Norris Thompson, dear mother of Iris Thompson, grandmother of Michael Thompson, great-grandmother of Peggy Jo, Christina and Patty Thompson, also survived by numerous sisters and one brother. Porterfiield and Emma Bell Thompson, on April 4, 1953 at Tazewell, Tazewell Co., Virginia.^1,2,3,5 William Herman Baldwin Jr. died on October 2, 2012 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 83.^4,3 He William H. “Bill" Baldwin Jr., 83, of Bluefield, W.VA., died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012. Bill was born Aug. 5, 1929 in Bluefield, W.VA. He was the oldest son of the late William H. Baldwin Sr. and Gladys Ruth Cook Baldwin. Bill went to work for Norfolk Western Railroad at the age of 16 and graduated from Bluefield High School in 1948. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, Bill resumed his railroad career and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as Car Distributor after 42 years. Bill was a member of Cumberland Heights Baptist Church for over 50 years. He served the church in many roles and influenced the lives of many young men as director of the RA program. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hiking, camping, hunting and fishing. He was always planning the next adventure with family or hunting friends...and Everyone was eager to join the adventure when Bill was the camp cook Bill loved his family deeply and he was deeply loved. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Baldwin and his daughter-in-law, Tammy Baldwin. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Porterfield Baldwin; daughter, Tricia Baldwin of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Stan Baldwin of Bluefield; three brothers, Frederick T. Baldwin and wife, Clarion, of Mooresville, N.C., Pavid N. Baldwin and wife, Nancy, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Charles A. Baldwin and Wife, Carol, of Myrtle Beach, S.C; grandson, Austin Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Elijah. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where, Stan Baldwin, Scott Collier, Erie Collier, Bob Shockley, Donnie Linkous, and John Flinchum will serve as pallbearers. on October 4, 2012.³

     His Social Security Number was 294-24-4081.² Donald Lee Thompson was born on September 18, 1932 at Edgemont, Hamilton Co., Ohio.² He married Helen Ina Faith "Fay" Powers circa 1963.^4,5 Donald Lee Thompson died on September 3, 2007 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina, at age 74.^2,6,3,4 He THOMPSON, Donald Lee was born in 1932 in Reading, OH, to Carl and Eleanor Thompson. He graduated from Reading High School in 1951 and enlisted in the Air Force. After the service he graduated from the Cincinnati Art Academy, He met the love of his life, Fay Powers, on a blind date. The two were inseparable and dated every day until they married six months later. Don worked as a commercial artist and along with three friends started a commercial art studio, MagnaGraphics. In their retirement years, Don and Fay spent time with their family, gardened, went to Panthers football games and traveled extensively. Don passed away on September 3, 2007 at their home in Charlotte, NC with his family beside him after a battle with cancer. He will be missed by many and will be remembered every day by his family. Don is survived by his wife, Fay Thompson, his sons Winn and Brian, his daughter, Connie and his granddaughters Leah, Darby, Emma and Nina. on September 6, 2007.⁴

     Betty Jo Ann Thompson was buried at Resthaven Memorial Park, 1917 West Main Street, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.⁵ She was born on April 15, 1934 at West Virginia.^1,5 As of June 18, 1954,her married name was Moses.² She married Dean Edward Moses on June 18, 1954 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.² Betty Jo Ann Thompson died on April 7, 2014 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 79.⁵

     Minnie Elizabeth Thompson was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, 1917 West Main Street, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.³ She was born on December 26, 1935 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.¹ She died on September 20, 1936 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.¹

     His Social Security Number was 232-38-1670.⁴ Dean Edward Moses was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Courthouse Road, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.² He was born on March 26, 1930 at Princewick, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^1,4,2,3 He married Betty Jo Ann Thompson, daughter of Samuel Emmett "Sam" Thompson and Pearl Alice "Pat" Vipperman, on June 18, 1954 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.¹ Dean Edward Moses died on October 5, 1968 at age 38.²

     Gregory Dean "Greg" Moses was buried at Resthaven Memorial Park, 1917 West Main Street, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^3,4 He married Shelly Pennington.⁴ Gregory Dean "Greg" Moses was born on July 31, 1960 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^3,4 He died on June 18, 1983 at Myrtle Beach, Horry Co., South Carolina, at age 22.^3,4 He Gregory Dean Moses, 22, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Princeton, died Saturday in a Myrtle Beach hospital. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born in Bluefield, he was the son of Mrs. Betty Thompson Moses of Princeton and the late Dean Moses. He was a self-employed general contractor, a 1978 graduate of Princeton High School, and had been residing in Myrtle Beach for the past four months. Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Mrs. Shelly Pennington Moses; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson of Princeton. Entombment will be in Resthaven Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Pallbearers: Ricky Snow, Jay Steele, John Osborne, Richard Marquis, Mike Moses, Scott Hogan, Sam Curto, David Baker and Kelly Miller. on June 21, 1983.⁴

     Emma Jean Thompson was buried at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, Tazewell Co., Virginia.³ She Emma Jean Mays, 85, of 307 Hockman Pike Bluefield, VA died July 18, 2022 in a Pikeville, KY hospital. Born in Bluefield, WV March 12, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Daniel Arnold Thompson and Maude Lou Pennington Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was an animal lover, enjoyed gardening and was a former Jaycettes. Emma Jean is survived by her husband of 68 years Charles Mays, daughters Sharon Dolinger of Bluefield, VA and Karen Neal (Mike) of Bluefield, WV, a son Ralph Michael Mays (Lea) of Cincinnati, OH, two sisters Maggie Millsap (Ronnie) of Bluefield, VA and Libby Dillon (Ronnie) of Hannah, SC, 5 grandchildren Sarah Kidwell (Mark), Shaun Neal (Melissa), Justin Mays, Kyle Mays (Chanel) and Kristina May-Eaton (Paul), 10 great-grandchildren Lorelai Bishop, Liam Kidwell, Ayden Neal, Brooklyn Neal, Alexia Hannah and Madison Mays, Vivian Mays, Hayes Mays Benjamin Mays and Keelyn Eaton. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Shaun Neal, Mark Kidwell, Justin Mays, Kyle Mays and Paul Eaton.³ She was born on March 12, 1937 at Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia.³ As of circa 1954,her married name was Mays.³ She married Charles A.
