Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born Jan. 18, 1888, at Oakvale, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Emma DeWeese Thompson. She moved to Princeton from Hinton in 1919 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton. She was a charter member and one of the founders of the TEL Sunday School Class of the church and a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Her husband, Fred M. Gore, preceded her in death in 1940 and a son, Dr. T. Paul Gore, died in 1943. Survivors include a son, Cecil F. of Princeton; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Thorpe of Greensboro, N.C; a sister, Mrs. J. E. Gore of Rich Creek, Va; and a granddaughter. Burial will be in Monte Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carson Hicks, Ray Bailey, Ed Lazenby, Bill Lawrence, O. D. (Bus) Compton and L. M. Amburgey. on February 24, 1965.4

Army in Germany; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Burial will follow in Powell Family Cemetery near Oakvale. on March 25, 1973.5

Born at Oakdale on May 17, 1897, he was a son of the late Joseph and Nannie Dunn Thompson. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Genevieve Pennington Thompson; four sons: The Rev. Max W. Thompson, Boissevain, Va. the Rev. Joseph W. Thompson, Lynchburg, Vance H. Thompson, Mullens, and James D. Thompson of Kalamazoo, Mich; two daughters, Mrs. V. C. Moxley and Mrs. Roy Trimble, of Cincinatti, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs C. W. Lloyd, Huntington, Mrs. Luke Hamblen and Mrs. Cecil Holdren, of Princeton; and a brother, B. E. Thompson of Dublin, Va. Funeral rites will be conducted from Elgood Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. on May 17, 1958.6

The last surviving member of her family, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Standford Collier; nine brothers, Carl E. Thompson, William H. Thompson, J. Norris Thompson, John B. Thompson, Charles S. Thompson, Samuel E. Thompson, Daniel A. Thompson, James F. Thompson and Herbert T. Thompson; and one sister, Garnet I. Conley. She is survived by one son, Herbert Scott Collier and wife Wanda of Bluefield; one daughter, Mary E. Baldwin and husband William H. Baldwin Jr., of Bluefield; four grandchildren, Patricia Ann Baldwin of Fort Worth, Texas, W. Stan Baldwin, Eric Collier and Heather Collier, all of Bluefield; one great-grandson, Austin Baldwin of Bluefield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Darrell Lilly, Billy Lilly, Jack Lilly, Duel Sigmon Jr., Carl Blevins, and R.T. Andrews. on January 28, 2000.3

He had been a patient there for six weeks under treatment for cancer. He was born June 16, 1897, at Shawsville, Va., the son of the late J. E. and Lillie Correll Hamblin. Mr. Hamblin was a foreman of the locomotive department of the Virginian Railway Co., of Princeton where he had been employed for the past 30 years. He had lived in Princeton for 35 years. His father preceded him in death last July, and his mother died May 25 of this year. He married the former Miss Macie E. Thompson at Keystone Dec. 24, 1923, who survives. Also surviving are one foster daughter, Mrs. Scottie Wornel of Princeton; three brothers, Marvin E. of Montgomery, Garland E. of Falls View, and W. H. living in Japan; four sisters, Miss Ocie Hamblin and Mrs. Mildred Bowling, both of Keystone; Mrs. Harry Pearce of Northfork, and Mrs. Jane Pennington of Charleston. He was a member of the BPOE Lodge NO. 1459 and of the Railway Diesel Club. Interment will be in the family plot of the Elgood Cemetery at Elgood. Pallbearers will be the following locomotive foremen; Luther Stafford, J. M Wallace, Harry Richard, L. L. Pearce, O. A. Hutchinson, M. C. Tomason, W. V. Lovern, and John Frederick. on June 6, 1955.9

He had been ill but a few hours and his passing came as a distinct shock to his family and friends. He leaves a widow and one son, Wayne. One daughter, Joe Anne preceded him to the grave one year ago. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Bauguess, Lerona; Bill Bauguess, Elgood, and Carl Bauguess of Athens. Interment will follow in Elgood Cemetery. on January 29, 1933.5
