Claudette Bess Nichols; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Bethanne Nichols, of Jessup, Md., and Stephen and Amy Nichols, of Decatur, Ala; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Michael Campbell, of Madison, Ala., and Amanda and Travis Sturgill, of Wise, Va; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Nichols and Danny Nichols; and one sister, Rosetta Kenlock, who all reside in Oak Hill, W.Va. The Rev. Nichols served the Lord through the Pastoral Ministry for 40 years. He served Churches of God in Chatham Hill and Broadford, Va; New Martinsville, W.Va; Huntsville, Ala; Scott Depot, W.Va; Greenville, Tenn; Summerville, S.C; Wise, Va; Princeton, Ind; and Christiansburg, Va. All through his pastoral life, the Rev. Nichols had a love for people. God allowed many Godly and interesting people to enter his life. He always felt that he was blessed by God more than he was ever able to bless. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home on Friday, November 13, 2009. There will be A Joyous Celebration of the Life of the Rev. Max Nichols 10 a.m. on Saturday Morning, November 14, 2009, at the First Church of God, 650 Canaan Road, Christiansburg, Va. The Rev. Frank Ramey, Pastor of St. Andrew Church of God in Camden, S.C; Dr. James Bradley, Virginia Church of God State Minister; the Rev. Les Horning, Pastor of Mennonite Fellowship; Melissa Campbell, daughter; Stan Perkins, friend; the Rev. Fred Hodges, Our Saviour Lutheran Church and Crystal Horning; will be participants in this Joyous Celebration. The Rev. Snidow, 54, of the Athens Road died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital from a coronary attack suffered earlier at his home. Born Oct. 9, 1904, at Narrows, Va., he was a car inspector for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway at Hinton. He had been furloughed for a few months due to his physical condition. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leona Poff Snidow; one son, E. Eugene Snidow of Princeton; three half brothers, Ira Blankenship of Paint Bank, Va., and Emmett and Raymond Blankenship, both of Arlington, Va; three half sisters, Mrs. Hobart Tracy of Narrows, Va., and Mrs. Roy Holliday and Mrs. Helen Shevos, both of Martinsville, Va; and one grandchild. The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Kee Street Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Crickard and the Rev. Clayton Sweet in charge. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Edwin M. Wiley, Raymond Dishner, W. C. Keaton, Phillip Bailey, Thurman Queen, C. F. Hill, Paul York and A. A. White. Members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class of the church will carry flowers. The body was removed from the Seaver Mortuary to his residence at 4 p.m. today and be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Friday. on November 7, 1958.3

He was a retired Methodist Minister, serving as the visitation pastor for The First Presbyterian Church of Sebring. Rev. Snidow moved to Sebring in 1990 from Holllywood, Fla., where he lived for many years. He was a veteran of U.S. Army, serving as a paratrooper in World War II, receiving, among other medals, the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Rev. Snidow served with the United Methodist Churches in Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, Marathon and Sebring. He was a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Disabled American Veterans, and the 101st Airborne Division Association. He was active as a chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol and attained the grade of lieutenant colonel. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Elswick) Snidow and a son, Roy Eugene Snidow Jr. of Sunrise, Fla. on August 14, 2009.5

Burial will be in the Greenville Methodist Church Cemetery at Greenville. Friends may call Monday after 3 p.m. Pallbearers will be Stanley Radcliff, Kenny Copland. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at ll a m. at Broyles Funeral Chapel in Peterstown with Rev. Larry Lykens and Rev. Ira Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hedding Cemetery at Lillydale. on February 15, 1983.5

Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery. Humphreys died at 1:30 p.m. Monday in a Princeton hospital from injuries received in a car wreck at 6 p.m. Saturday in Monroe County. His son was killed instantly in the accident. Born at Wayside, Aug. 4, 1922, Humphreys was a son of the late Alfred S. and Mrs. Ora Humphreys of Ballard, who survives. A lifelong resident of Greenville, he was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church, veteran of World war II, Disabled Veterans of America and was employed by Pulaski Furniture Co. in Pulaski, Va. Humphreys is survived by his wife, Nancy Crawford Humphreys; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Miller of Ballard, and Mrs. Lydia Rogers of Greenville, and a brother, Robert H. Humphreys of Huntington. The bodies will remain at Broyles Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown where friends may call after 2 p.m. today. on January 11, 1972.4

Mrs. Miller was a rural route mail carrier for fifty years, and faithful member of the Kellysville Church of God, Kellysville, WV. She served on the Monroe County Republican Executive Committee, was a farmer, enjoyed working outdoors, and loved to keep scrapbooks, and her personal diary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Clarence G. Miller; two sons, Melvin Miller and wife Paula and Leroy Miller and wife Barbara all of Ballard, WV; two daughters, Leta Gray of Narrows, VA, and Neta Ellen Dunn and husband Hunter of Peterstown, WV; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Kellysville Church of God, Kellysville, WV, with Rev. Franklin Adkins officiating. Entombment will follow at the Birchlawn Abby in Pearisburg, VA. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, and at the church one hour prior to the services on Monday. on July 29, 2012.5
