Barbara moved with her family to Aiken in 1951. She was employed as an administrative secretary by the Dupont Company at the Savannah River Plant until her retirement in 1984. Among her many activities, she was a member of the Aiken Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years; an active member and president of the Aiken Business and Professional Women's Club; and a long time and devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she attended more sporting events for her sons than any mother should have to endure. In addition to her husband, Barbara was predeceased by her son Robert L. Johnson. She is survived by her son Michael L. Johnson (Holly), her daughter-in-law Barbara F. Johnson, and her grandchildren Sarah Kathryn Johnson, Scott R. Johnson and Brian M. Johnson.
