He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 3rd Division - 11th Battalion Armored Cavalry Regiment. He was a retired supervisor for Ashland Oil (Super America), and former owner/operator of The Red Head Station on East Washington Street, Charleston. He was known to everyone as "Red;" many people knew him as Marvin; and many others knew him as PaPa Hudnall, even if they were not his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Madeline Rice, June Dalton and Lucille Casto. He is survived by sons, Johnnie Ray Hudnall of Inman, S.C., and Jeffrey Hudnall (Elizabeth) of Elkview; four grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsey, Ashley and Hunter Hudnall; one great-grandson, Brayden Carnes; sister, Bobbie Bess of Nitro; and many nieces and nephews. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Myers Funeral Home, Elkview with the Rev. David Bess officiating. Burial will be in Clendenin Memorial Gardens, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. on May 9, 2012.4

He was born August 4, 1933, the son of the late Harley and Dessie Butcher Pauley. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Korea. While serving his country, Robert met his bride, Mary Kathryn Jones Pauley, whom he married on May 3, 1953. Together, they raised their six children on Rt. 266, in Stockport. He was a mechanic at Central Ohio Coal Co and Shelly & Sands, retiring in 1994 from Central Ohio. He was a strong union man. After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling, and going to Bluegrass festivals throughout the country. Robert enjoyed life and was looking forward to planting his garden that he was always so proud of. He loved to laugh, and enjoyed fishing, but, his greatest joy was getting all his family together for a barbeque. He is survived by, and will be sadly missed, by his wife, Kathy, of 55 years, and his children, Irene and her husband, Jim Davis, of Blue Rock, Jim and his wife, Debbie, of Duncan Falls, Larry and his wife, Carol, of Coolville, Debbie Lilly of League City, TX, Johnny of Lore City and Teresa and her husband, John Matheney of McConnelsville, 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one of them was his twin; two brothers and a grandson, Jeremiah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley& Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Chad McCune officiating. Burial will be in Mt. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Siripun; three grandchildren, Kaye, Lisa and Nick; two great-grandchildren, Janice and Joaquin; brother, Richard of Pittsburgh, Pa. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 600 Old Fort St., Cedar Grove, with Pastor Phillip Conn. Entombment will follow the service at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Glasgow. Visitation will be Friday, June 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at Eastbrook and Hospice who took such wonderful care of her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1601 2nd Ave., Charleston, WV 25387. She will be sadly missed by all. on June 11, 2015.4
