Barbara Rose Davis Barbara Rose Scarbro, 71, of Rock Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her home. She was born March 29, 1946 in Edwight, WV to the late Gilbert and Catherine Dillon Davis. Barbara was of the Christian faith and born and raised in Raleigh County, WV. She is survived by her husband, Wesley Quentin Scarbro; four children: Rhonda (Art) Burnette, Gary Asbury, Michelle Harvey and Angela (Jim) Brown; three grandchildren: Christopher Miller, Amanda (James) Sparks and Colin Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Fallyn Collins. Also survived by her brother-in-law, Damon Scarbro, and several other special family members and friends. The family wishes to say a special Thank you to the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Wesley Quentin Scarbro was buried at Scarbro Family Cemetery, Rock Creek, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2 He Wesley Quentin Scarbro, 86, of Rock Creek, WV, stepped into Glory with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 24, 2024. Quentin was born on April 6, 1938, in Highcoal, in Boone County, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Kate Scarbro, his caring wife, Barbara, his brothers Bill, Keith, Kenny, Gene, and Damon Scarbro and his sister Sue Woolridge. He is survived by his children: Rhonda Burnette (Art), Gary Asbury, Michelle Hamm (Tim), and Angie Brown (Troy Cole), grandchildren: Chris Miller, Amanda Rakes (John), and Colin Brown, and one great-grandchild: Fallyn Rakes. Quentin proudly served his country in the Army from 1961 to 1963. In his younger years Quentin enjoyed working in his garden and taking care of his land on which, he raised his family. He also enjoyed spending time with family, listening to gospel and bluegrass music, and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. We know he entered Heaven completely healed to be with Jesus and all his loved ones for eternity. A service will be held at the Scarbro Family Cemetery, which will include a military ceremony.2 He married Barbara Rose Davis, daughter of Gilbert Anderson Davis and Catherine Lessie Dillon.1 Wesley Quentin Scarbro was born on April 3, 1938 at Highcoal, Boone Co., West Virginia.2 He died on May 24, 2024 at West Virginia at age 86.2

He was born February 5, 1949 in Edwight, WV a son of the late Gilbert and Catherine Dillon Davis. John was a retired Coal Miner and member of the UMWA with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, turkey hunting, gardening, and cutting grass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewel Martin and Barbara Scarbro and three brothers, Franklin, Delbert, Gilbert. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Clara Jane Davis; a daughter, Beverly Jeffrey and husband, Marvin; a son, Brandon Davis and grandchildren, Katherine, Kaleb, Kirsten, Alexis “Beverly’s” Isaac “Brandon’s”. To special friends, Tommy Collins and Charles Edward “CE” Lynch. Milam and their girls, Marie's great-nieces, Alexis and Brooklyn; niece, Stephanie Sturm; her son, Marie's greatnephew, J.C. Bush of Scott Depot, along with many devoted friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thanks to 4 South Team nurses at St. Mary's Hospital, Hospice House of Huntington and Dr. Conjura for the care they gave Marie and our family. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, W.Va. on February 18, 2008.4

He had been in the Marines two and a half years, having spent 12 months in Vietnam. The corporal was stationed in Clarksvillee, Tenn., and came home on leave three days ago. He attended Clay County High School. Surviving are his widow, Judy; mother, Mrs. Gladys F. Evans of Bomont; brothers Charles and Marshal, both at home; sisters, Wilma and Wanda, both at home. Burial with military graveside rites will be in King-Mullins Cemetery at Bomont. on December 20, 1967.3

Ella Marie Arbaugh Ella Marie Arbaugh Parker Burroughs Petrey, 87, formerly of Meadow Creek, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Mount Vernon Nursing Home, Alexandria, VA, following a long illness. Born Aug. 27, 1926, in Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Otie Everett and Maude Sweetwood Arbaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Henry D. “Jr.” Parker, Jr; two brothers, Roy Arbaugh and Robert Arbaugh; and two sisters, Dorothy Craddock and Pauline Addleman. Over the years Marie lived in West Virginia and the DC Metropolitan Area. She retired in 1988, having worked most of her life in retail, with most of that time at Woodward & Lothrop Department Store in Northern Virginia. Marie absolutely loved music, dancing and bingo, and was always a huge fan of the Washington Redskins. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include: three children, Barbara McDonald and husband Ron of Woodbridge, VA, William “Chuck” Parker and wife Sharon of Spotsylvania, VA and Sheila Knotts and husband Greg of Stafford, VA; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Henry Dee Parker Jr. was buried at Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.1 He was born on October 26, 1946 at Meadow Creek, Summers Co., West Virginia.1,2 He Henry Dee Parker, Jr., 14, of Meadow Creek, died at 9 a.m. today at the Hinton Hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday. Death was attributed to a kidney ailment. Born at Meadow Creek, he was a son of Henry Dee and Helen Marie Arbaugh Parker and had lived most of his life in the same community. Parker resided with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Arbaugh and was a freshman Sandstone High School. Surviving besides his grandparents, are his father, Henry D. Parker of Minnesota; his mother; a brother, William Parker and sister, Barbara Parker of Meadow Creek. on April 18, 1961.2 He died on April 18, 1961 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 14.1
