     Barbara Rose Davis Barbara Rose Scarbro, 71, of Rock Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her home. She was born March 29, 1946 in Edwight, WV to the late Gilbert and Catherine Dillon Davis. Barbara was of the Christian faith and born and raised in Raleigh County, WV. She is survived by her husband, Wesley Quentin Scarbro; four children: Rhonda (Art) Burnette, Gary Asbury, Michelle Harvey and Angela (Jim) Brown; three grandchildren: Christopher Miller, Amanda (James) Sparks and Colin Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Fallyn Collins. Also survived by her brother-in-law, Damon Scarbro, and several other special family members and friends. The family wishes to say a special Thank you to the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Graveside services will be held in the Scarbro Family Cemetery, Rock Creek, WV.³ She was buried at Scarbro Family Cemetery, Rock Creek, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.³ Her married name was Asbury.³ Her married name was Scarbro.³ She married Wesley Quentin Scarbro.³ Barbara Rose Davis married Golden Dean Asbury.³ Barbara Rose Davis was born on March 29, 1946 at Edwight, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.³ She and Golden Dean Asbury were divorced circa 1973.³ Barbara Rose Davis died on May 2, 2017 at Rock Creek, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 71.³

     Wesley Quentin Scarbro was buried at Scarbro Family Cemetery, Rock Creek, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.² He Wesley Quentin Scarbro, 86, of Rock Creek, WV, stepped into Glory with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 24, 2024. Quentin was born on April 6, 1938, in Highcoal, in Boone County, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Kate Scarbro, his caring wife, Barbara, his brothers Bill, Keith, Kenny, Gene, and Damon Scarbro and his sister Sue Woolridge. He is survived by his children: Rhonda Burnette (Art), Gary Asbury, Michelle Hamm (Tim), and Angie Brown (Troy Cole), grandchildren: Chris Miller, Amanda Rakes (John), and Colin Brown, and one great-grandchild: Fallyn Rakes. Quentin proudly served his country in the Army from 1961 to 1963. In his younger years Quentin enjoyed working in his garden and taking care of his land on which, he raised his family. He also enjoyed spending time with family, listening to gospel and bluegrass music, and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. We know he entered Heaven completely healed to be with Jesus and all his loved ones for eternity. A service will be held at the Scarbro Family Cemetery, which will include a military ceremony.² He married Barbara Rose Davis, daughter of Gilbert Anderson Davis and Catherine Lessie Dillon.¹ Wesley Quentin Scarbro was born on April 3, 1938 at Highcoal, Boone Co., West Virginia.² He died on May 24, 2024 at West Virginia at age 86.²

     Gilbert Anderson Davis Jr. was buried at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Medina Co., Ohio.^4,5 He was born on May 10, 1933 at Birch Run, Clay Co., West Virginia.^2,3,8,4,5 He married Shirley Christine Church on August 19, 1960 at Summit Co., Ohio.³ Gilbert Anderson Davis Jr. died on November 17, 2015 at Ohio at age 82.^8,4,5,6 He Gilbert Anderson Davis, Jr., age 82, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Shirley C. Davis, son Kenneth R. (Christine), and daughter Kathy J. Grandchildren Brian (Rebecca), Lindsay and Riley. Also siblings John, Jack, Opal, Minnie, Sue and Barbara. Preceding him in death were his parents Gilbert Sr. and Catherine and siblings Delbert, Frank and Jewell. on November 18, 2015.⁶

     Delbert Lee Davis married Frances Unknown.⁴ Delbert Lee Davis married Unknown Phelps.⁶ Delbert Lee Davis was born on July 14, 1935 at West Virginia.^4,7 He and Frances Unknown were divorced on May 15, 1972 at Summit Co., Ohio.⁴ Delbert Lee Davis married Judith Ann DelMonte on June 16, 1972 at Summit Co., Ohio.⁴ Delbert Lee Davis died on February 9, 2012 at Ohio at age 76.^8,7 He Delbert L. "Dale" Davis, 76, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away February 9, 2012. Dale was a caring person who would help anyone. We want to thank the caregivers at Grace Hospice for the loving care and compassion given to Dale. To miss him is his loving wife, Judy; sons, Terry (Shannon), and John; daughters, Karen Capana, and Angela (Paul) Cotton; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. on February 12, 2012.⁸

Born in Edwight, W.Va., on July 4, 1937, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Catherine Dillon Davis. Mr. Davis' request was to be cremated. on September 3, 2009.³

     John Richard Davis John Richard Davis, 69, of Rock Creek, WV passed away, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV after a long illness. He was born February 5, 1949 in Edwight, WV a son of the late Gilbert and Catherine Dillon Davis. John was a retired Coal Miner and member of the UMWA with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, turkey hunting, gardening, and cutting grass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewel Martin and Barbara Scarbro and three brothers, Franklin, Delbert, Gilbert. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Clara Jane Davis; a daughter, Beverly Jeffrey and husband, Marvin; a son, Brandon Davis and grandchildren, Katherine, Kaleb, Kirsten, Alexis “Beverly’s” Isaac “Brandon’s”. To special friends, Tommy Collins and Charles Edward “CE” Lynch. Mr. Davis’s request was for cremation following the service.³ He was born on February 5, 1949 at Edwight, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.³ He married Clara Jane Unknown circa 1975.³ John Richard Davis died on March 1, 2018 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 69.³

Knight, her soul mate, married 49 years died in the Hospice House of Huntington after a short aggressive illness. Marie was born October 24, 1939 in St. Albans, W.Va., daughter to Nena Samples and the late Loyol Samples. She was a homemaker and loved to travel. Prior to that, she was a faithful employee of Dr. Robert Simpson. Marie is survived by her mother, Nena Samples of Hurricane, W.Va., formerly of St. Albans; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas E. and Dawn D. Calabrese, who was like a sister and best friend to Marie, of Hurricane; special and devoted niece, Melissa D. Milam and her husband Michael L. Milam and their girls, Marie's great-nieces, Alexis and Brooklyn; niece, Stephanie Sturm; her son, Marie's greatnephew, J.C. Bush of Scott Depot, along with many devoted friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thanks to 4 South Team nurses at St. Mary's Hospital, Hospice House of Huntington and Dr. Conjura for the care they gave Marie and our family. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, W.Va. on February 18, 2008.⁴

Gene was retired from Kroger Co. after 40 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nola and John Knight; and a brother, Alfred Knight. He is survived by his wife, Marie Knight; sister, Dawn Day, and her husband, Thomas Calabrese, of West Virginia; mother-in-law, Nena Samples; niece, Melissa, and her husband, Mike Milam; Stephanie Strum; two great-nieces, Alexis and Brooklyn Milam; and a great-nephew, J. C. Bush. Interment will be at the Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, W.Va. The family would like to thank all of the nurses at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and their friends. on May 4, 2006.²

     Charles Richard Evans was buried at King-Mullins Cemetery, Odessa, Clay Co., West Virginia.^1,2 He was born on October 20, 1948 at Bomont, Clay Co., West Virginia.^1,2 He died on February 11, 2015 at Shepherdstown, Jefferson Co., West Virginia, at age 66.^1,2 He Charles Richard Evans, 66, a resident of Canterbury Center, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015. Born Oct. 20, 1948 in Bomont, he was the son of the late Luther and Gladys Fern Evans. He is survived by two sisters, Wanda Kay Wolfe of South Carolina and Wilma J. Evans of Martinsburg; one brother, Marshall L. Evans of Georgia; niece, Sonya Baker of South Carolina; nephew, Thomas G. Dearien Jr. of West Virginia; and several great-nieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Evans, and a sister, L. Christine Evans. Private interment will be held in Kings Mullins Cemetery, Bomont. on February 15, 2015.²

He was Robert Lee Evans, of Bomont, Clay County. Clay County Coroner A. A. Smith said the wound was apparently self-inflicted. The body of Cpl. Evans was found near his home. He had been in the Marines two and a half years, having spent 12 months in Vietnam. The corporal was stationed in Clarksvillee, Tenn., and came home on leave three days ago. He attended Clay County High School. Surviving are his widow, Judy; mother, Mrs. Gladys F. Evans of Bomont; brothers Charles and Marshal, both at home; sisters, Wilma and Wanda, both at home. Burial with military graveside rites will be in King-Mullins Cemetery at Bomont. on December 20, 1967.³

     Lela Christine Evans was buried at Evans Cemetery, Glen, Clay Co., West Virginia.¹ She was born on June 30, 1944 at Bomont, Clay Co., West Virginia.¹ She died on October 11, 1944 at Bomont, Clay Co., West Virginia.¹

     Ella Marie Arbaugh Ella Marie Arbaugh Parker Burroughs Petrey, 87, formerly of Meadow Creek, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Mount Vernon Nursing Home, Alexandria, VA, following a long illness. Born Aug. 27, 1926, in Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Otie Everett and Maude Sweetwood Arbaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Henry D. “Jr.” Parker, Jr; two brothers, Roy Arbaugh and Robert Arbaugh; and two sisters, Dorothy Craddock and Pauline Addleman. Over the years Marie lived in West Virginia and the DC Metropolitan Area. She retired in 1988, having worked most of her life in retail, with most of that time at Woodward & Lothrop Department Store in Northern Virginia. Marie absolutely loved music, dancing and bingo, and was always a huge fan of the Washington Redskins. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include: three children, Barbara McDonald and husband Ron of Woodbridge, VA, William “Chuck” Parker and wife Sharon of Spotsylvania, VA and Sheila Knotts and husband Greg of Stafford, VA; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson.⁴ She was buried at Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.⁵ She and Henry Dee Parker were divorced.⁴ Ella Marie Arbaugh was born on August 27, 1926 at Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.^3,4,5 As of November 3, 1946,her married name was Parker.¹ She married Henry Dee Parker, son of William Oscar Parker and Lura H. Hall, on November 3, 1946 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.¹ Ella Marie Arbaugh died on January 10, 2014 at Alexandria, Virginia, at age 87.^4,5

     Henry Dee Parker Jr. was buried at Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.¹ He was born on October 26, 1946 at Meadow Creek, Summers Co., West Virginia.^1,2 He Henry Dee Parker, Jr., 14, of Meadow Creek, died at 9 a.m. today at the Hinton Hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday. Death was attributed to a kidney ailment. Born at Meadow Creek, he was a son of Henry Dee and Helen Marie Arbaugh Parker and had lived most of his life in the same community. Parker resided with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Arbaugh and was a freshman Sandstone High School. Surviving besides his grandparents, are his father, Henry D. Parker of Minnesota; his mother; a brother, William Parker and sister, Barbara Parker of Meadow Creek. on April 18, 1961.² He died on April 18, 1961 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 14.¹
