A graveside service was held at the Morning Star Cemetery in Bland. He was a member of the Bland Community Church where he served as pastor for over 10 years. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation and was an avid hunter and trapper. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Kate Hoback Shewey; and a brother, Stafford D. Shewey. Survivors include his wife, Martha Faulkner Shewey of Bland; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Shewey of Bland, and Luther and Jamie Shewey of Bristol, Tenn; five grandchildren, Latrayle Tyree of Pennsylvania, Megan Cox of Bristol, Tenn., Kellen Shewey of Kingsport, Tenn., Sherri Dillow of Bland and Martha "Kathy" Shewey of Bluefield; eight great-grandchildren; a special friend, Bill Walters of Roanoke; and many nieces, nephews, friends and church family. on December 3, 2011.²

     Harold Thomas "Tom" Blankenship Jr. was buried at Shiloh Cemetery, Holly Brook, Bland Co., Virginia.⁵ He was born on December 2, 1943 at Marion, Smyth Co., Virginia.^2,3,4,5 He married Ella Jean Faulkner, daughter of Robert Wade Faulkner and Mamie Ruth Wright, on August 20, 1966 at Bland Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 Harold Thomas "Tom" Blankenship Jr. died on April 11, 2020 at Virginia at age 76.^4,5 He Harold Thomas Blankenship Jr., 76, of Alexandria, Va. and Mechanicsburg, Va., passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020. He was born at Marion, Va, on December 2, 1943, the son of the late Harold Thomas Sr., and Elizabeth Wymer Blankenship. He was actively involved in two churches within the communities he lived. He was proud graduate of Virginia Tech, where he received his Bachelor's degree, Kennesaw State University, where he received his Master's Degree and NOVA Southeastern University, where he earned his doctorate. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He belonged to numerous professional and engineering organizations and served his community through the Bland American Legion Post # 20, Kazim Temple and Bland Masonic Lodge, Post # 206. He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad and was employed by the Federal Railroad Association through the United States Government. He especially enjoyed his farm in Bland County. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Ella Jean Faulkner Blankenship; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristol Blankenship and Mark Dudley, Roanoke; his son, Harold "Tom" Blankenship III; his grandchildren, Riley Dudley, Aniline Dudley and Cayden Blankenship; his brother and sister-in-law, James and Barbara Blankenship, Pulaski; his sisters and brother-in-law, Rebecca ("Mickey") and Kenneth Brim, Christiansburg, and Michelle Blankenship, Bland; his mother-in-law, Mamie Faulkner; his special pet companions, "Sunshine" and "Elmo"; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends. Following strictly the mandated assembly restrictions, there will be no public services at this time. on April 16, 2020.⁴

     Lewis Edward Howard was buried at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, British Columbia, Canada.⁴ He was born on February 2, 1893 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.⁵ He married Freda Jane Boeck, daughter of Albert Edward Boeck and Melvina Marinda "Vina" Stewart, on September 14, 1921 at Bovill, Latah Co., Idaho.^1,2 Lewis Edward Howard died on November 22, 1967 at Princeton, British Columbia, Canada, at age 74.^3,4
