They moved to Odessa in 1941. Jettie helped her husband, Guy start G.Q. Salmon & Son Inc. in 1952. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Odessa Study Club, Hospital Auxiliary and a member of Eastern Star serving as Past Worthy Matron 1971-72. Jettie has been a much-loved resident of Deerings Nursing Home for the past 12 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Salmon. Survivors include son, Tommy Salmon Sr. and his wife, Judi of Odessa; brother, J.C. Akers of Helfie, La; three grandchildren, Lee Ann Burk and her husband, Andy, Tommy Salmon Jr. and his wife, Julie, and David Salmon and his wife, Julie; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Music Department, 709 N. Lee Ave., Odessa, Texas, 79761. on March 24, 1998.⁵
