     Betty Joanne Conner LIPSCOMB, Betty Joanne, 78, of Mechanicsville, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, suddenly went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 15, 2019. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Hash; and son, Linwood Nelson Lipscomb Jr; and is survived by her husband of 60 years, Linwood N. Lipscomb Sr; two daughters, Christine Lipscomb and Tracey Schools (Tim); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Friedhoff; two brothers, Forrest "Dewey" Conner and B. Curtis Conner (Caryl); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty loved the Lord and was involved in youth ministry for many years, leading multitudes of children to Christ.      Linwood Nelson Lipscomb Sr. Lipscomb, Linwood Nelson “Tubby” Sr., 80, of Mechaniscville, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 8, 2020, after experiencing a difficult medical course following surgeries. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joanne Lipscomb, with whom he was married for 60 years. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Hash; and son, Linwood Nelson Lipscomb, Jr; and is survived by two daughters, Tracey Schools (Tim) and Christine Lipscomb; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Walls; two brothers, Francis Lipscomb and Harold Lipscomb (Cheryl); several nieces and nephews as well as cousins. He also leaves behind Buddy, his dog, a well-loved and faithful companion. He retired from Hanover County as a plumbing inspector, where he was employed for several years. Prior to that, he owned B&L Plumbing and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved to make people laugh. The apples of his eyes were his cat Princess and his new kitten Scooter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Kingrey. Surviving are two daughters, Dianna Edwards Pruitt and husband, Carl of Winston-Salem, and Tracy Edwards Oakes and husband, Charles of High Point; a brother, David Edwards of Roanoke, VA; three grandchildren, Traci Krystine Griffie of Springfield, MA, Paul Griffie of High Point, and Amanda Holly Pruitt of Winston-Salem. on September 8, 2009.⁴

Later, she took courses at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston. She lived in Orofino from 1974 to 1985, when she moved to Weippe. She married James A. Clark Oct. 3, 1964. They divorced in 1979. She married Charles Thomas Gilmore in 1981 and they also divorced. She and her husband, William Roy Stewart, whom she married in 1985, were separated at the time of her death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orofino for many years and was active in numerous social and charitable activities. She enjoyed the outdoors. Survivors include a son, Charles Thomas Gilmore Jr. of Weippe; three daughters, Elizabeth Marie Clark of Chicago, Tammi Kay Harris of Fort Lewis, Wash., and Hope Andrea Borquez of Mesa, Ariz; her mother, Ernestina Estrada of Chandler, Ariz; and six grandchildren. A daughter, Addie J. Clark, died previously. A graveside service will be held at at Riverside Cemetery in Orofino. on July 7, 1998.⁴
