     Daniel Warren Myers Daniel Warren Myers, 90 passed away February 10, 2012 at 9:02am at Union Hospital. He was born March 12, 1921 in Clay County the son of Henry Daniel Myers and Ruth Thomas Myers. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater for 3 and one half years. In his work career, he first was at Arketex and then later he worked for Eastern Express in the office working in the computer department. He also worked at CBS before they moved offices to Georgia. He last worked as a correctional officer at the Putnamville Correctional Facility. He and Mary Lou Rollings Myers were united in marriage on October 30, 1948. Daniel was a devoted member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and keeping everything in good repair. He also was an avid Cubs Fan. His number one priority was family and he will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife Mary Lou; daughter Karen Purdy of Brownsburg; son Gregory Myer and wife Gertrude of New Orleans; grandchildren, Benjamin Purdy, Andy Purdy and wife Lisa, Nicholas Purdy, Daniel Purdy, Jason Myers and Adrienne Myers; one great-grandson, Chase Purdy; sisters in law, Eva Myers and Delores Myers Haddon of Brazil; nieces and nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Marshall Fred Myers and Howard Myers and an infant granddaughter, Laura Purdy. Funeral Information - Services will be held Monday at 1:00pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Selby officiating. Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. R. 1, Lewis; a son, John Pliant of R. R. 1, Lewis; a brother, Pete Butts of R. R. 5, Brazil; a sister, Mrs. Venus Lister of Willamsburg, N.M; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the McClanahan Funeral Home at Jasonville where friends may call after 10 o'clock Thursday morning. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Friendly Grove Church, north of Coalmont. The Rev. Terry Riley will officiate and burial will be In the adjoining cemetery. on April 3, 1958.1
