     Donald Lee "Donnie" Wimmer was born on July 21, 1955 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.^2,3,4 He married Donna Jean Covill on February 28, 1977 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 Donald Lee "Donnie" Wimmer died on January 8, 2013 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia, at age 57.² He Donald Lee Wimmer, 57, of Churchill Road, Eggleston, departed this life Tuesday evening, January 8, 2013. at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Pearisburg on July 21, 1955 he was a son of the late Robert L. and Mable Jane Akers Wimmer. "Donnie" was employed as a meat cutter with Wades Supermarkets in Pearisburg and Dublin, was a graduate of Giles High School Class of 1973, was a lifetime member of the Eggleston Volunteer Fire Department with over 40 years service, and was a devoted member of the Eggleston United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Lee Wimmer. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 36 years, Donna Covill Wimmer; his son Shaun C. Wimmer of Dublin; his daughter-in-law, Laura Wimmer, of Blacksburg; his brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Carol Wimmer, of Newport; his sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Bob Burkett, of Woodbridge; his grandchildren, Rebecca Harmon, Emily Wimmer, Kennedy Wimmer, and Caroline Wimmer; his nieces and nephews, Josh and Kelly Wimmer, Lena and Lonnie Atkins, Gary Burkett, William and Jeannie Wimmer, his brother-in-law Jerry Covill, and his sister-in-law Carol Sutphin both of Rural Retreat; and his good friends Lynn Meadows Conley and her son Daniel. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends for 6 until 8 p.m. before the services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the Eggleston Fire Dept., the Eggleston United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements. on January 10, 2013.²

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Laura P. Wimmer; his daughters, Rebecca Dawn Harmon, Emily Grace Wimmer, and Kennedy Jean Wimmer, of the home; his parents, Donald Lee and Donna Covill Wimmer, of Eggleston; his brother, Shawn C. Wimmer, of Dublin; his mother-in-law, Donna McCoy-Musselman and her husband, William, of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be conducted Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with the Rev Mike Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. before the services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to defray the funeral expenses or for his daughters education trust. A Wake To Celebrate Roberts Life will be held at the Eggleston Fire Hall Saturday evening from 2 until 7 p.m. on May 3, 2012.¹
