He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Poff. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Saturday, January 2, 1 to 5 p.m. at the home, 4607 Fishers View Road, Pilot. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 2 p.m., at Cave Spring United Methodist Church. She was born on September 7, 1955. She is survived by her parents, Alvin Ray and Marie June Vest Wimmer; her sister, Janet Raye; as well as many special aunts, uncles and cousins. Judy was a very involved member of the Huffville United Methodist Church. She had been employed by Duncan Automotive Group for 28½ years. She loved to knit, bowl and sing. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines and devoted much time, serving on the Board of Directors of the Golden Triangle Women's Bowling, which merged and became the New River Valley USBC. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Church family, to her caregivers, Cinda McCoy and Carol Clower, as well as the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and the staff of the DC/MD/VA Chapter of the ALS Association. Also special thanks to the Up & At 'Em Bowling League for all of their support and assistance. He was born on February 4, 1925, to Ernest and Gladys Meredith of Pilot, Va. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the 752nd tank battalion with the 88th division as T4 Sergeant based in Italy. He was a Deputy Sheriff of Montgomery County for five years. He was a member of the McDaniel Lodge # 86 AF & AM from 1960 to 2010. Lewis was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church and attended the Frank Wickam Sunday School Class which he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by brothers, Roy and Arnold Meredith and several special brother and sisters-in-law. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Wimmer Meredith; son and daughter-in-law, James and Sherry Meredith; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Dubby Charlton; grandchildren, Brad Meredith and Sara Charlton; great-granddaughter, Colleen Meredith; sisters-in-law, Catherine Meredith, Lois Epperly, Daphne McNeil, LZ Wimmer, Rachael Wimmer and Diana Wimmer; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Marie June Wimmer; many beloved nieces and nephews; life long friends, David and Carol Campbell, Donna King and Brenda and Donald Hylton; special cousin, Wilmer Walker. Lewis cherished the many friends he had at St. Paul Methodist Church and the family would like to thank them all for the kindness shown to him during his illness. He married Lois Claudine Wimmer, daughter of Edgar Hamilton Wimmer and Lela Charlotte "Claudie" Ridinger, on April 7, 1956 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,3,4 Charles Dalton "Charlie" Epperly died on May 23, 2006 at Blacksburg, Virginia, at age 73.² He Charlie Dalton Epperly, 73, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Lena H. Epperly. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lois Epperly; his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Kathy Epperly, Wytheville; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Denie Marie, Blacksburg; stepgranddaughter, Kelly Widner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Nancy Epperly, Jerry and Bonnie Epperly; half sister, Beulah Nunley; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Epperly, Jenny Hylton; and brother-in-law, Eddie Walters.
