She loved going to bingos at Springtree, ironing, quilting, but most of all cooking for her family. Sunday afternoons were special times when the entire family would get together for one of her marvelous Sunday meals and good family times. Everyone called her BOO BOO. This was the name given to her by her great-grandson, Chase Kincer, who at two years old struggled to understand why she was always falling and had so many BOO BOOS. From that point on he called her BOO BOO and so did everyone else! Diane Gallagher and Steven Poff, very special niece and nephew, were devoted in their visiting Florence. In July 2004, Springtree Health & Rehabilitation Facility became her new home after a long battle with health issues. In May 2005, they held the first Miss Springtree Pageant when she was crowned MISS SPRINGTREE. It was an honor of which she was very proud!! When you live at a facility for almost five years, it becomes more than just a facility, it becomes your new home with friends and family. The family would like to thank all of her many friends and the staff at Springtree for the care and friendship that they gave to BOO BOO. Special thanks to Dr. Fred Swartzendruber and Dawn, Dr. James D. Bailey and Gentle Shepherd Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to Florence and her family.
