He worked at National Castings for over 17 years in the foundry. He was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and visiting with friends. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Bill married Allie C. Boggs on May 10, 1964, and she preceded him in death June 14, 2008. He is survived by a daughter, Renee Nickel of Farrell, Pa; four grandchildren, Jones W. Philson, Jacob "Jake" Philson, Shayna Nickel and Adam Nickel; two sisters, Evelyne McLaughlin and late husband Donald of Procious, and Charlotte Steed and husband Jim of Charleston; one brother, Roland Eagle and wife Patty of Charleston. He was preceded in death by his mother, Adelyn (Joe) Dawson; his father, Bircher (Corda Goad) Eagle; his wife, Allie; a daughter, Carol Ann Eagle; a grandson, Kenneth Nickel; and a sister, Carol Ann Eagle. Interment will be at Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Twp. on April 5, 2009.³

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was also a former employee of Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, an employee of Marathon Industries, Bridgeport, and a former employee of Union Carbide. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyne Eagle McLaughlin; sons, Donald Bradley McLaughlin of Clay and Rodney Allen McLaughlin of Procious; daughter, Ellyn Dawne McLaughlin of Annapolis, Md; brother, James McLaughlin of St. Marys; sisters, Shonette Shearer of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nell Foreman of Charleston; and grandchildren, Miranda Rae and Caleb Ian McLaughlin.      James Ellis "Jim" Perdue was buried at Ovapa Church of God Cemetery, Ovapa, Clay Co., West Virginia.² He was born on April 22, 1944 at Albany, Clinton Co., Kentucky.¹ He married Glenna Jeanne "Jeannie" O'Dell, daughter of Gay August O'Dell and Delphia Marie Samples, on May 30, 1965 at Ovapa, Clay Co., West Virginia.^3,1,4 James Ellis "Jim" Perdue died on March 17, 2021 at West Virginia at age 76.² He James Ellis "Jim" Perdue went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021. His days were spent with family, friends, and music until the last. Jim never met a stranger and his generous heart and teasing nature brought joy to so many. He was ushered into heaven by many loved ones that had passed before him. Jim faithfully attended Unity Gospel Tabernacle at Stinson, West Virginia, and shared his love of music with school children at Clay County Middle School. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne, of fifty-six years, son Eric (Vicky Vance), daughter Kara (Brett Stover), daughter Julia (George Wilkinson) and multiple grand and great-grandchildren, sister Betty McCart, sister Dean George, brother Bill, and sister Carol Fluhr plus a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Friend and his wife, Patricia, of Ravenswood, and Fredric Alan Friend and his wife, Deborah, of Groveport, OH; grandchildren Emily (Dustin) Darr, Alan (Stephanie) Friend, Albert Friend, Kyle Friend, and Charissa Friend, and a great grandchild, Tucker Darr; brothers, Lloyd Friend of St. Albans, Jack Friend of Charleston, and Garrie Friend of Huntingtown, MD. He was a 1959 graduate of Clay County High School, a Navy veteran, former employee of Clendenin Lumber Company, and was presently employed at 84 Lumber Company at Elkview. He was well-known for his friendly smile, his helpful attitude and generosity to those who were in need. He was born again and baptized a short time before his death. He was a member of the Odd Fellows. His father, Eugene G. Samples of Procious, preceded him in death. Kenneth, "Hook," is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Kelli Samples of Wallback; daughters, Andrea Jill Keiffer and husband Tony of Walton, and Stacy Richards and husband Bobby of Spee; mother, Maycle Samples of Procious; brothers, Steve Samples of Pensacola, Fla., Garland Samples of Bickmore and Randy Samples of Wallback; sisters, Thelma Rhodes of Clendenin, the Rev. Wilma Dobbins of Montgomery, Shelley Edwards of Procious, and Lisa Lewis of Clay. He was a proud grandfather of one granddaughter, Gracen Samples; and five grandsons, Zachary, Alex, and Matthew Keiffer, and Christopher and Joshua Richards. There will be a graveside service in A. J. Samples Cemetery, Procious. on December 13, 2001.²
