She leaves behind 29 grandchildren who remember her love and generosity; 54 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 21, at Twin City Bible Church, Nitro, with Pastor Roger G. Mullins, Pastor Bill Egerdahl, Pastor Bruce Young and Pastor Donald Cummings officiating. David Ulysses Stevens David Ulysses Stevens - On the morning of February 27, 2015, David passed away peacefully while being visited and comforted by his family at the Veteran's Administration Hospital Community Living Center in Temple, TX. David was 74 years old. David Stevens was born in the town of Dorothy, West Virginia on January 24, 1941. He was the only child to Albert and Zelma Stevens. David joined the United States Army on June 20, 1961. He enjoyed serving his country and served just under 12 years before being honorably discharged in January of 1973. David was a Vietnam veteran after serving in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. David's military service brought him to Fort Hood, Texas where he made friends and a life. After his service, David spent some time in California but found his way back to Texas where he met his wife, Rose Stevens, on March 2, 1981. They were married on April 30, 1981 and went on to have four children. David loved fishing, doing crossword puzzles, camping, and hunting. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys, play. He worked for and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple, TX. David Stevens is survived by his wife, Rose Stevens, children Victoria Stevens, Dixie Stevens, Stephanie and Wayne Ptaszek, David and Jennifer Stevens, and 15 grandchildren; Haden, Mikayla, Nathan, Cameron, Jeffery, Abigail, Malachi, Kyler, Hayley, Kylee, Kennedy, Jace, Nevaeh, Ava, and David. Funeral services will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home 3220 S. 31st St. in Temple, TX on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 1pm, followed by a graveside service at the Holland cemetery in Holland, TX. The family would like to thank the hospice team at the Community Living Center at the VA in Temple for their excellent care and support during a very difficult time.1 He was buried at Holland Cemetery, Holland, Bell Co., Texas.1 He was born on January 24, 1941 at Dorothy, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.1 He married Rose Unknown on April 30, 1981.1 David Ulysses Stevens died on February 27, 2015 at Temple, Bell Co., Texas, at age 74.1

Hunt bf Dade City, Fla; brothers, Starling and Freddie, both of Elk View, Orland of Big Chimney, Howard and Orville, both of Charleston and Samuel of North Caolina; sisters, Mrs. Ruby Mason, Mrs. Mildred Mason, Mrs. Betty Lupsom, and Mrs. Regina O'Brien, all of Charleston; eight grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. Friends may call after 11 a.m. today. on April 22, 1974.2
