The girl, a student in the ninth grade at Matoaka Junior High school, had attended school Monday, and never complained of feeling ill. She was born April 27, 1932, at Widemouth, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Browning, who survive. Also surviving are seven brothers: Lloyd, Roy, Jr., Daryl, Curtis, Walter, Paul, and Frederick; and one sister, Gertrude. The father Is employed by the American Coal company at McComas. The body was removed to the Bailey Funeral chapel at Matoaka where it will remain pending funeral services. The rites will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at Giatto, the church to be announced later. Mrs. Effie Gilmer, minister of Pearisburg, Va., will be in charge. Burial will be in Burton cemetery at Widemouth. Pallbearers will be: Charlie Mills, Spencer Elledge, Lacy Carden, Robert McKinney and Joe and Paul Deaton. on March 3, 1948.⁴
