He was preceded in death by his first wife, Effie Huffman; parents, David and Letha Huffman; and sister, Mildred Holcome. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 7½ years, JoAnn Huffman; children, Betty Mull and husband Bud, Barbara Tucker and husband Jim, Laura Cross and husband Ben, Steve Radford and wife Kathy; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was a native of Roanoke and a veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II. He was employed by Norfolk and Western Railroad and was a United States Postal Carrier. He was a faithful, active member of First Church of the Nazarene, involved in various areas of church service. He was active in the VFW Post 4522 and the U.S. Postal Union. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. on January 16, 2016.2

Edward Wayne "Eddie" Smith Edward Wayne Smith, 55, of Roanoke peacefully went to his heavenly home Sunday, May 8, 2016. He was born April 4, 1961 a son of Margaret Kinsley and the late Washington Smith. Eddie worked at Mas Tec Incorporated and served in the United States Navy. He loved to help people, wood work, and build things. He loved attending Coopers Cove Church. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by step-father, Harvey Kinsley; brother, Mark Smith; father-in-law, Landon Hall and sister-in-law, Debra Hall. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Frances Hall Smith; brothers, Timmy Smith, David Smith and David Robertson; sisters, Sally Martin, Sherrie Hughes and Mary James; mother-in-law, Carol Hall; brother-in-law, Michael Hall; many nieces and nephews.
