Mary Alice “Mame” Wroten was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Blytheville, Mississippi Co., Arkansas.2 Her name was legally changed to Mary Alice McWaters.1 Her married name was Caldwell.3 She married Daniel Huffman "Dan" Caldwell, son of Chester Abbott Caldwell and Ruth V. Hughes.3,1 Mary Alice “Mame” Wroten died on December 26, 1937.2 She died on March 14, 2011 at Arkansas.1,2 She Mary Alice "Mame" Wroten McWaters Caldwell, 73, prominent Blytheville businesswoman, community leader, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother died suddenly Monday, March 14th. A lifetime Blytheville resident, she graduated from Blytheville High School where she served as a majorette, and was the Salutatorian of her graduating class. She attended the University of Mississippi where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta. Mame was active in many civic projects and was always looking for a way to better her community. She was active in the PEO sisterhood, the First Baptist Church and the Blytheville Board of Realtors. Mame started Century 21 McWaters Realty with her father, Charles Louis McWaters, and was the driving force behind its success. Her slogan, "Let Me Show You My Hometown" was her motto. Mame earned numerous awards during her career including Century 21 Corporation's highest, the CENTURION award for 14 consecutive years. She was inducted into the CENTURION Hall of Fame in 2003 and into the CENTURY 21 International Hall of Fame in 2001. She was a person of strength, faith, and genuine character and will be greatly missed. Mame was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Ray Wroten, her mother, Baneeta Langston Wroten McWaters and her adoptive father, Charles Louis McWaters. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Huffman Caldwell Sr. of the home; two sons: Edwin Harmon Caldwell of Franklin, Tenn., and Daniel Huffman Caldwell Jr. of Crisfield, Md; one daughter: Cecilia Wroten Caldwell of Ambler, Pa; two granddaughters; Lydia Ruth Caldwell and Anna Sophia Caldwell; two grandsons: Henry Huffman Caldwell and Langston Cooper Caldwell; two sisters: Anita Elizabeth (Susie) Fussell and Margaret Tann Stovall; and one brother, Charles Louis McWaters Jr. on March 17, 2011.1
