     Janice J. Hulings Softly in the evening, you heard a gentle call you took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all…..Janice J. Robinson, 78 of E. Smithfield, Pa passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Ayers in Magnolia, TX. Janice was born on November 27, 1935 in Kane, Pa a daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Broman) Hulings. Janice was an active member of the E. Smithfield United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens club who she entertained with her talent of beautiful music, by playing the piano. She was a self-taught pianist and could play by ear ~ having had not one lesson. She was a retired employee of GTE – Sylvania, Towanda following 28 years of service. She enjoyed her home, family and spending time with her faithful canine companion, Bridget. Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, “nanny” as she was known by many of the grandchildren will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Ron Ayers of Magnolia, TX; her son and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Mary Steele of St. Mary’s PA; her special grandchildren: Amy and Tim Hoke of Nichols; Jamie and Bobbi Ayers of Rome, Pa; Stacy and Paul Slatter of Magnolia, TX; Ashley Ayers and Todd Fox of Rome, PA; TJ and Ashley Steele of St. Mary’s, Pa; Stephen A. Steele, US ARMY; Patrick Steele and Nicki Hadfield of St. Mary’s Pa; Great grandchildren: Whitney & Nate Hoke of Nichols; Kylie and Skylar Ayers of Rome, Pa; Ryan Pedro of Woodfield, OH; Ashlynn Pedro-Slatter of Magnolia, TX; Cameran Ayers of Rome, Pa; Gabby and Bobby Steele of St. Mary’s, PA; and a great great grandson Connor Cole, Athens, PA. a very special friend, Jeannette Palmenter of E. Smithfield, Pa. Her sisters and brothers-in-law: Marjorie and Wayne Scouten of E. Smithfield, PA; Geraldine Krieg of Wilcox, Pa; Carolyn and James Yount, Meriden, CT; brother Wade Hulings of E. Smithfield; sisters-in-law: Jean Hulings of Milan, Pa; Paula Hulings of CT and Sandy Hulings of Albany, NY; numerous nieces, nephews and their families also survive. She was predeceased by her p arents, brothers Harold and Williams Hulings and brother-in-law Howard Krieg. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 12-1 pm at the E. Smithfield United Methodist Church. Funeral services and a celebration of Janice’s life will follow at 1 pm with her Pastor Laverne Jackson, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family on Monday in the Union Cemetery, E. Smithfield, Pa.1 She was buried at Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania.1 Her married name was Steele.1 Her married name was Robinson.1 She married Unknown Robinson.1,3,4 Janice J.      Harold Broman Hulings Sr. was buried at Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania.2,4 His Social Security Number was 166-34-3803.3 He Harold B. Hulings Sr., 61, of 8 Chestnut St., Kane, Pa., formerly of East Smithfield, Pa., died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. Born July 8, 1944, in Kane, he was the son of Bertha T. Broman Hulings and the late Harold W. Hulings. Harold attended St. Mary’s School in St. Mary’s, Pa. In early years Harold was employed by Ulbrich Stainless Steel in Wallingford, Conn., and was later employed by Hotchkiss Express as a truck driver for 15 years. In 1976, Harold was involved in a motorcycle accident, which left him disabled. With great inner strength and determination, Harold continued on, operating a farm at East Smithfield and transporting cattle and equipment with his truck for many years. He possessed great love and devotion to his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Harold also loved the outdoors, farming, camping, hunting, boating and water skiing. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his keen wit and sense of humor. Surviving are his wife, Gene Finn Hulings; his mother Bertha T. Hulings of East Smithfield; his children, Harold B. Hulings Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Bentley Creek, Pa., Annette J. Tinkham and her husband, Adam, of Rome, Pa., and Timothy R. Hulings and his wife, Audra, of Kane; nine grandchildren; his brother, Wade Hulings of Meriden, Conn; his sisters, Marjorie Scouten and her husband Wayne, of East Smithfield, Janice Robinson of East Smithfield, Geraldine Krieg and her husband, Howard, of Wilcox, Pa. and Carolyn Yount and her husband, James, of Southington, Conn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold W. Hulings, in 1969, and by a brother William Hulings, in 2005. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre, with the Rev. William Lusk, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of East Smithfield, officiating.
