"Fod" Owsley, 74, of Red House passed away February 15, 2011, in CAMC Teays Valley Hospital. Mr. Owsley was retired from the Ironworkers Local 301. He is survived by his children, Sherry Cochran and husband, Don, of Leon, Terri Harrison and husband, Mike, of Bancroft, Buddy Owsley and wife, Vanessa, of Red House and Tina Powell and husband, David, of Buffalo; sisters, Carol Scarberry of Nitro, Mary Francis Scarberry of Poca and Joyce Lavender of St. Albans; brother, Johnny Owsley of Rock Branch; grandchildren, Jackie, Joel, Michael, Brittany, Stephanie, Tommy, Katie, David II and Jessica; and three great grandchildren, Olivia, Britton Pierce and Addison. A tribute to the life of Mr. Clinton E. "Fod" Owsley will be 7 p.m. Thursday, February 17, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bron R. Walker officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Thursday. on February 16, 2011.³

She was born February 2, 1934, in Putnam County, the daughter of Estil and Meril Poff Owsley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy L. Scarberry, and brothers, Clinton and John Owsley. Carol was always there for her family when they need help. Doug had a full and wonderful life that encompassed 52 years of marriage to the love of his life, Joyce, and that produced four children: daughter, Pamella Dawson and son-in-law, Mark, of Scott Depot; son, Anthony Lavender and beloved daughter-in-law, Deanna Garrett; daughter, Letha "Flossie" Sylvester and son-in-law, Richard, of Winfield; and son, Douglas Lavender Jr. of St. Albans; brothers, the Rev. Malcom Lavender of Ft. Gratiot, Mich., and Calvin Lavender and Thomas Lavender, both of St. Albans; sister, Joyce Emajean Williams of Hurricane; his grandchildren, Heather, Brian, Victoria, Faith, Shelby, Lydia and Madison ("He loved them all best!"); and great-grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia and Josiah. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at King's River Worship Center, 777 Mallory Lane, St. Albans. A private graveside service will be held on the family farm. David Morris of The Elizabeth Antioch Baptist Church, Wirt County, officiating, who also baptized Christopher in the Summer of 2004. Cora was born August 23, 1941 in Lillybrook, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Underwood and Eva Rae Poff Underwood. She was a graduate of Stoco High School, Coal City, West Virginia. Cora retired as an administration professional with Verizon and was a member of Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Underwood. Cookie is survived by her loving husband, Randy Slack of Edinburg; a daughter, Sheri and husband Bill McMahon grandchildren, Wesley McMahon and Amanda Lombardi (Kahl), and great grandchildren, Jake and Ellie; a son, Jim and wife Bernadette Slack, and grandsons, Joshua and Caleb; also survived by a sister, Peggy Craig and husband Ronny of Poughkeepsie, NY; a brother, Bill Lee Underwood and wife Helen of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Mary Underwood of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.      William Lee "Bill" Underwood William L. "Bill" Underwood, 88, of Point Pleasant, departed this life to be with Jesus and his son, Alan, in the early morning of August 20, 2019, at his home. He was retired from Century Aluminum, in Ravenswood and was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. Bill was also an official basketball referee, where he would run up and down the courts, well past 80 years old. He was also a faithful member of the First Church of God. Bill was born July 20, 1931, in Boomer, WV, a son to the late Robert and Eva (Poff) Underwood. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Alan L. Underwood, in 2015. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen (Maxey) Underwood; grandson, Garrett Underwood and granddaughter, Kelly Wood; his great-grandchildren; his sister and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Ronald Craig and Randy Slack. There will be a memorial service at 12:00 pm, Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home. Private Burial will take place at the VA Cemetery, in Dunbar.³ He was buried at Donel C.
